For me until they say they are gone or the coach legit says they are there’s always a chance they make it

If that's somehow all we lose, Jay would run around campus naked.

ESPN mock of top 80 spots:

5. Berry
11. Crawford
23. Toman
29. Snelling
53. Romero
64. Doughty
65. Misiorowski

Also Noot, Shores, and Neal mentioned as follows:

High school players that fit in the top 80 picks on talent but didn't make this mock because 1) I just ran out of spots or 2) there's some level of concern about their ability to sign or 3) I think they'll just get paid at a later pick:

What I hope Johnson & Johnson can do is convince Misiorowski, depending on what his number or what they off, "Hey, we know you have some of the best stuff out there in this class metrics wise, you come to LSU, even just for one season, and show that stuff plays in the SEC, you're top 10 next year"

Hunt on the radio trying to "manifest" Crews to the Cubs, but saying we lose 8 on Sunday.

Come on, man. Gotta speak those kids to campus.

I think we're still trying to line up post-draft options right now to cover ourselves depending on how things break. A HS infielder (committed to a school with a coaching change) and a small school catcher (that is draft eligible) I think are still in the picture depending on what happens this weekend.

Collin Price I'm guessing if several catchers leave in the draft and we miss on Skenes

Infielder is too hard to take a stab at with the number of coaching changes. Notre Dame has several. Florida State has a couple but they are from Florida

I wasn't trying to create a guessing game, I just didn't want to put names out in case nothing came of it. The catcher has been mentioned in this thread before but it's not Collin Price. To my knowledge, I've never mentioned the infielder but we've been evaluating for a while. I took him off my list when he committed to a school, but put him back on recently when tracking Josh Jordan. That's when I realized there was a coaching change.

John Garcia from Grambling is the catcher, he's a draft risk himself though. And Ryan Black is the infielder. He's from Texas and committed to UT-Arlington right now.

I don’t think Skenes is gonna come here to catch tbh. Think he’s more of a SP/DH . I don’t think he’ll do a lot of both in the SEC

This isn't really recruiting related, but the MEAC conference has lost so many schools to other conferences that they are no longer able to sponsor baseball. Their 4 remaining teams will now play in the NEC. May slightly affect some RPIs for the better NEC teams, but what it really means is that there is one less auto-bid conference.

Pretty much ensures another SEC or ACC team in the post season each year.

Went to put on the Braves game on my MLB TV app and saw the HS All-American game is on.

Here is the info.

I'll take whatever he gives us. Just pitch, or all of the above. I just worry that he's been on the market long enough that all bets are off- I wouldn't even be surprised if an unexpected school gets him. We grabbed Tommy White really fast, which limited the competition for him.

PSA for board rookies going into the draft...

As Jay said in the Matt Trent interview, if you see an LSU player/recruit get drafted in the early rounds then they are going to sign. The deal has already been agreed to before the pick.

I know there is usually a lot of talk after the draft hoping the player will pass. Jay said forget it.

Very early rounds, I'd say yes. If a guy goes rounds 1-3, it's pretty much a done deal unless the team starts playing around with the money too much. What to watch are guys that slip some - this means that the target team backed off and somebody else swooped in a little later with somebody else as their initial target. At that point, the money definitely gets tricky. Say, for example, Romero slips to the 3rd round - it gets tricky bc he was expecting 2nd round money, so a team will have to get creative. Then, you have to watch who else the team drafts - if they reach, that means they're probably making room for over slot money. For example, Romero slips to the 3rd but the team's next pick is a 0 leverage guy, well, they're gonna pay Romero - if their next pick is another guy that slipped, well, it gets tricky.

I feel like if those guys do slip and still get drafted it’s probably because they worked it out to get to their number, not just a shot in the dark they would agree to a lower slot.
