Oklahoma State

We may have the tallest pitching roster next season based on just Money, Appleby and Shores (assuming he commits) alone

his twitter account looks to be extremely pro A&M, probably a solid guess it's between the Tigers or the Ags

Thank you, I'll add him to the list.

I appreciate you bringing a lot of the news here. Especially when it breaks on Instagram.

Shores is the 29th commit since Jay Johnson got to LSU. He's the 11th guy added to the 2022 class since Johnson's arrival.

His commitment puts us at 65/38 for the 2022-2023 yea . That included roughly 28 guys with at least some draft risk.

Hasn't even been here four months, not to mention the numerous transfers he has also brought in. Just insane the start he has had and we haven't even taken the field yet for a game

I keep up with recruiting and I didn't realize he has brought in that many players.

Isn't there supposed to be a meeting in January to discuss roster size, scholarship distribution and redshirts?

There will be more discussion. I think the coaches association that pushes for reforms are looking for 40 spots instead of 35. They're also looking to eliminate the 25% minimum.

I like the redshirt rule they want to do which would be similar to football where you could play guys up to a certain amount of games and still let them redshirt.

We're building some pitching depth in a serious way with this 2022 class. Shores, Appleby, Ackenhausen, Siravo, Noot, Bucknam, and Snelling all give you arms in the 92-97 range. Something we have been desperately lacking. I know some of those guys might not end up on campus, but wow is that a nice start.

I think the strategy is "we can't possibly lose all of these guys to the draft."

And it's right. We will lose some, but overall there are only so many picks available and only so many bonus dollars available.

Johnson has no problem aiming for the sky with commits. One of his classes at Arizona had Nolan Gorman and Matthew Liberatore. They were both Ari
zona HS players, but both were extremely highly rated draft prospects.
We currently have 20 guys in the PBR top 500 for 2022. We could lose half of them and still have a really good class. If we get 2/3 of the JUCO pitchers to campus, that's really good.

Much rather that approach than having 5 of them and praying 1 gets through.

Snelling. 97MPH fastball, power curveball, 4 star LB and a lefty.

As excited as I am for 2022 season and I think 2023 will be noticeably better.

The guy I was referencing was Connor Benge from Texas. I thought he may be a weekend visitor too, and that we were close to locking him up, but I could be wrong.

Benge committed to Mississippi Gulf Coast tonight. He may still be on our radar depending on how he progresses there.

Project,

Perfectgame website has a pitcher out of Sinton, Tx committed to us, Wyatt Wiatrek. The list looks up to date because it includes Shores.

Will see a lot of oversigning especially with high draft risks
You might luck up and get them to campus
If not, you have a fallback with the transfer portal

Shores and Snelling are two of a total 7 high school pitchers to reach 97 MPH in HS All-Star games, that I saw on perfectgame website.

Only two of those 7 reached over 97.

Noot wasn't too far behind either with 95 MPH.

Shores hit 95 MPH are better multiple times.
