they didn't have a backup plan or a back to the backup plan.
You can say that again.
Turang and Cairo in back to back years with no backup options. Pathetic.

I say this about the football recruits who change their commitment all the time to other schools if you don’t really want to be at LSU and compete then don’t come. I want people that want to be here.

That's why he is continuing to try loading up the wagon. You just don't know how you're going to look after the draft, so you need to keep stacking. Looks crowded now, but may not after. That's what happens when you recruit well.
You don't get to a deep line up by trying to fill 9 spots. You get it by trying to fill 14 or 15.
I know you don't like when I reference them, but last off season Tennessee kept recruiting JUCO infielders pretty much until the summer started. One of them started in LF, one of them went pro, and one of them looks to contribute this upcoming season. None of them started on the infield. Instead 3 guys with a combined less than 100 ABs filled the three open spots across the infield. But they had DEPTH.
You don't stop trying to make the team better.

The backup plan for Turang was the JUCO kid from Chipola that the Twins drafted. (Same year as Enlow, I feel like we just returned the favor to them for that)
We got lucky that Brandt Broussard decided he was okay with waiting until August for an offer.

It won't happen, but it would be a move similar to what Buster Posey did.
On Team USA one year Crews started several games behind the plate, splitting time with Drew Romo. He has the tools to be very, very good back there.
But then again, he has the tools to be good pretty much everywhere.
ETA: If not for his injury history and already being a ball magnet, I'd like to see what Dugas could do behind the dish.

Andrew Bechtold went in the 2017 draft so yes you're correct in the same year which was one year before Turang.

Yeah, not today, friend. Maybe later?

Ah, I thought Bechtold was a back up plan for someone. I think he was actually just another one we didn't have a back up plan for.

Brody Drost to La Tech per Leah.
Good spot for him and good for Tech
Good spot for him and good for Tech

Good spot for him. Hope he puts it together.

Wasn’t there someone here that said Tennessee was after him lol I hope he puts it all together as well, has a really pretty swing if he can get locked in.

I really want Young. I feel like Jay can get his bat right. I usually don’t like to try and be too positive based solely on a roster, but we are building a monster.

Someone posted that on this board, but I don't think it was in this thread.
I asked my source about it but he hadn't heard they were after him.

Dylan Tebrake interview with Mascona just now said he will sign if he gets his number (shocked I know). Did say Wes Johnson hiring was big for him and is making the decision more difficult.

That’s the actual issue we have though. No one cares about YOUR opinion on how you think it’ll make kids feel. You came in implying it HAS done that without any support for that. Are you claiming Guidry an actual example of that and if so based on what info or source. That’s how you present that, not what you did.
Posted on 6/27/22 at 6:20 pm to beardkp
He makes it sound like it’s personal, so I assume he knows Guidry. If he has no connections to any of the recruits, he probably just needs to get out his feelings. We’ve been left high and dry several times by guys going pro over college, Jay said he’s not going to be held hostage and he ain’t lying.
