Yeah you may be right I am just saying he has some tuff decisions depending on how many he brings in from the portal. I still think he needs to bring in 2 more starting quality pitchers.

I’ve seen a lot people bringing up Skenes today in this thread. Has there been some kind of movement that I missed in all of the commotion or are we all just hoping?

I don’t think there’s much substance with Skenes. Early word was UT but that may have been based on momentum from Ahuna. Haven’t seen much on him lately.

Mostly hoping. It's a good fit for us and him - pitcher/catcher combo that played with Crews for Team USA and has played at The Box. Reading the twitter who's following who also leads me to believe that some conversations were had or scheduled.

He’s been number one on my wishlist since he entered the portal. Was figuring it was a bunch of wishcasting but was really hoping I missed something

The Ms state guy on 247 said his 3 visits would be state, Tennessee, and LSU.

After yesterday, I'm not gonna put anything past CJJ. If we get a visit, there's a good chance.

Okay, well that gives us a shot.
Wonder if jay or JK had previous connections with him recruiting out of high school. Being from cali and all

I think NIL is a player here as well. I'm not suggesting it will be his main motive, but it could be the deciding factor.

I think it comes down to LSU and Tennessee and what each offer as his role. Not saying NIL is off the table, but I think Skenes is looking for fit as far as how he'll be used. He can pretty much be a Friday/Saturday guy and C/DH whenever he wants here. At Tennessee, he might not be a Friday/Saturday guy and will really need to catch alot.

What does he want to do more?
Miss st might let him do both as well

Possibly - think he also has ties with Crews from team USA

That's the question. And, how each team is selling him on what he wants and what they think would serve him best even if it's not exactly what he thinks he wants.

After watching all the homers, im now wondering if his weak spot is inside pitches. Because i didnt see any homers on those
Posted on 6/25/22 at 8:05 am to josh336
All of his HRs are loud, too. And, he hits everything...off speed, fastball, balls, strikes, up, down, in, out. If he has any hole, it's hard in...but you better not miss or he'll hammer it or take a HBP.
Posted on 6/25/22 at 8:07 am to DRock88
Yeah i also noticed alot of the homers were on pitches that were on the outside corner or on the corner and close to the knees. And a couple were on sliders. Good sign

Bingo. But he makes it tough to get in there. Hard, slightly elevated, in is his only minor hole. That can be said for alot of hitters, though, especially ones that spray gap to gap.
ETA: He hammers lefties. Dare you to throw a back foot slider.
