Was just looking on PG site at our commit list and saw that FIU has 29 commits LOL, not sure how many have signed but WOW...how is that even possible??????????
They have some very good high end talent in the class, but most of those guys will never step foot on campus. It's impossible. Heliot Ramos is committed to them, but he's going to be a first rounder. They have a ton of other guys from Puerto Rico committed too because of Mervyl Melendez being so tapped into baseball there, but a lot of those guys will either sign MLB or end up going JUCO.
MJ Melendez will almost assuredly end up on campus, and if they hold on to his former HS teammate Logan Allen, that's the basis of a very good class. Their class really is loaded though from a talent and numbers standpoint.

IMO Enlow and Storz sign
Cabrera and Pearson make it to campus
McCabe is a toss up.. if he shows up he is a lights out back of the game guy.

What about news on Cameron Sanders? LSU had him in town recently, played for ED White in HS

I'll see if I can find anything. He's at one of the Florida JUCOs now. I think his brother plays at Southeastern maybe. I haven't looked into him recently. I'll see what I can dig up though. Thanks for the headsup.
ETA: I think our '17 class is about to get supplemented by JUCOs in anticipation of the draft. We just got a righty from a Florida JUCO, but then he was rated the #1 JC draft prospect after throwing 100+ at a showcase.

In state 2019 (I think) recruit Cullen pharris committed to lsu. More info tomorrow.
ETA:
Cullen Pharris is a 6'4" 210 lb RHP from Dequincy. FB in the upper 80s.
Also added to the list on PG, but haven't found any other confirmation is a commitment from MS 2019 RHP Farmer Abendroth. He's 6'4" 160 with an 88mph fastball, from Vicksburg.

Who is this kid that just committed last week from St. Paul's? Only a sophomore. I hate when these kids come out of nowhere in my district

I don't know a whole lot about him. Big kid though. Currently topping out at 87 but obviously projects higher based on size.
Plays in the same summer program as Drew Bianco. It's apparently a pretty good program, it's got a ton of kids committed to colleges all over.
As you can see, recruiting is getting earlier and earlier for these kids. LSU already has one 2020 commit, but many schools have multiple. Mississippi St picked up a 2021 commit a few weeks ago. That there is a little more publicity around the commitments makes it easier to track these kids in their high school seasons, as long as their local paper still has a good prep section.

It hasn't been rare to have volunteer coaches i personally know ask me about kids i give lessons too. They won't commit the resources of having a paid coach go to their games. but they definitely will put a set of volunteer eyes on kids in the 8th or 9th grade. I have had a handful of kids over the last 5 years that clearly were going to be college material. Now at 14/15 I'd have a hard time telling you what level of college ball they would play at.

Marucci Elite Black? What's the kid's name? I followed every game they played this Summer.

I guess I should have said one of the programs Bianco plays for. EC Sox is the program Scherer plays for.
I'm sure they all play for multiple programs depending on which ones go to which tourneys. I saw Bianco listed on the EC Sox site when I was looking at committed players.

Nice! Thanks for the update. I wasn't able to find anything on it before. Admittedly though, I have no inside sources so if google or Twitter doesn't tell me anything, I'm not going to have it.

I spoke with a parent of his
From what I understand he is coming to LSU unless something really changes, such as grades.
His dad was a former MLB pitcher and his mom played college softball, so great pedigree. His brother plays at SELU that I know and should see more action this year.
