Doesn't really matter. Slot for pick #21 is $3 million. He's getting his money.

Paul needs to find a JUCO or a senior transfer who can upgrade us either at short or third.

Agreed. Can't count on Smith with his chronic injury and Hal Hughes doesn't belong in SEC.

Yeah, it was a pipe dream on Turang. A juco catcher that can actually frame and block pitches would be nice.

SUPPOSEDLY, that's what Brock Mathis brings.

Garza is more of an offensive player who can also catch. But ideally you'd get Willis in here and have Garza give you a 6-4 kid at first base, and then have Mathis as a backup catcher.

I think we're an infielder short with Turang not making it in.

I like Hughes glove. He is just a freshman. The bat could get better with a good hitting coach.... not outsourcing hitting coaching from traction

I don't think you can carry Broussard, Hughes and Reid all on the same roster two years in a row.

We'll see what Dugas does. He could be part of the solution. But Bianco making 20 errors as a senior tells me he's an outfielder and not an infielder. So you're a man short there. They need an addition from somewhere.

I want to see bianco behind the plate. He has the build and athleticism. Unless Broussard and Hughes get a lot better at the plate, I agree you have to find someone else to contribute

I don't think he's ever played back there. His brother did, but he's always been at shortstop or third base as I understand it.

He has some speed. He stole 40 bases his junior year. That tells me he might be able to fill a hole in either right or left. But those 20 errors in the field this year scares the hell out of me.

Scone had Alden Cartwright (drop the Cartwright audio clip) and he said Paul promoted Micah Gibbs mostly because it was so late to go look for a hitting coach on short notice. So I expect them to find another Andy Cannizzaro this offseason.

He let Gibbs stay around but I think he got hurt in a freak accident and couldn’t coach this year. He might return as the hitting coach, idk.

Vandy might keep their whole class together

I didn't think Gibbs did a bad job in 2017.

They scuffled a good part of the year but got better in the back third, and you could see some of them really develop. Deichmann became a lot better hitter, so did Papierski.

If they went back to Gibbs I'd be OK with it. At least he wouldn't be a rookie hitting coach like we've had the last two years.

But I think you need to go make a run at Tennessee Tech's hitting coach and bring him in. Based on the results over there he looks like a Dave Aranda that would do your program a world of good.

Gibbs is a smart stat guy. Alden pointed out he’s destined to be in a MLB front office

Might be nice to get recruits that can already hit and make their own adjustments at the plate.

What the draft is doing to Canizzaro's recruiting class at Mississippi State is nothing short of a human rights violation. What is that, four signees drafted in the top 57 and gone? Five?
