I don't count exiting seniors in that number, it's only players with eligibility remaining.

So assuming Watson, Hess and Sanders are gone - we are at 46/35.

Then you have to think at least three recruits don’t make it to campus - you are at 43/35.

Eight guys to cut. I imagine if two catchers make it to campus then Feduccia and Doughty are gone. That gets you to 41/35.

Would have to think about the others but probably 3-5 arms would be leaving too.

This is obviously all speculations, but I think you could see the following players leave as well:

Duplantis to the draft
A player like Chris Reid transfer
If numbers are tight, Moffit and another pitcher or two could get "processed"
And wasn't there rumors that Bryce might hang it up after this year?

My bad. The 35 is the allowed roster limit. The 49 is that number plus 20 verbals/signees and current eligible roster?.

The best chance for a loss today would be Turang. I don't see Watson, Slaughter or Hess being drafted today.

Yes. 29 non-seniors on the existing roster who have eligibility to return, plus 20 signees means we have 49 potential players for next season, and we have to get down to 35.

I wonder how many of those decisions were made on the flight back from Corvalis

The draft may take care of half of the 14 at least, combo of signees and current roster. What do you think?

I don't like to speculate on transfers or guys being pushed out. I think it's safe to assume that Turang, Hess, Watson, Duplantis, and Sanders are gone to the draft. That puts us at 44/35.

July 15th is the deadline for signing with the draft, so we won't have to wait too long on some of these.

Gavin Dugas has been starting at 2nd base for the Danville Dans. Drew Bianco is making his debut for them tonight at 3rd base.

I expect both of them to compete for time at those positions this fall. (I think Slaughter will move to the outfield like Deichmann did)

Dugas was 4-4 last night. Also a video clip of him on the MLB draft tracker.

I think slaughter slides back over to 1st unless Willis and Garza both make it to campus.

Do you not expect Dugas to be able to play short?

He probably can. I don't expect that we'll need him to.

KC might have to overslot Singer. That could be something to look at. Tampa will have to overslot the guy they drafted as well

They have the top 2 bonus pools, but that definitely helps our cause.

Yep. There goes that. At least some teams with a lot of money are going to have to sign guys overslot. That could help with the rest of our signees

Is it a fact that he wants at least 2.5M?

Very true... don’t see a lot of below slot takers in the top 10 that would be money used on some of our other guys later in the draft
