The court didn't release the audio because the information was inconclusive and would have prejudice the jury against the defendant. A conversation alone in this instance would not be sufficient to convict Wade.

The audio recording was not allowed to be introduced as evidence and played, but the transcript of the conversation was allowed to be entered as evidence and read out loud in the courtroom, the jury heard what was on the tape.

"Casey Donnelly, attempted to introduce a recording of a call between Wade and Dawkins during the trial as evidence. The recording wasn’t allowed into evidence, but the transcript of the call — allegedly referring to Balsa Koprivica, a 7-foot center from Montverde, Florida — was read aloud."

"One of those prospects was Balsa Koprivica, who received a scholarship offer from LSU coach Will Wade just days after a series of calls between phone numbers associated with Wade and Dawkins, according to the call records. When pieced together with court testimony and transcripts of selected calls that were entered into evidence, the call records provide a fuller picture of the depth of the pay-for-play scheme.

Some courts regard a transcript as merely an aid to assist the jury in understanding what is on the recording. I would bet that a great deal of the tape is distorted and is for this reason, a transcript was forward to the judge to consider. Keep in mind,a number of courts insist that only the recording itself is actual evidence, and that the transcript is merely an aid to assist the jury in following what is on the recording. The judge ruled that the overall strength of the transcript testimony was questionable therefore inadmissible. If the tape is ever released, you too will probably infer that the taped conversation is missing vital segments of the conversation of which the defense piece together to favor their clients. The judge listen to the transcripts and threw it out and ask the jury not to consider what what was read. The NCAA attorney's would probably do the same. Wade get's off due to the poor quality of the taped conversation. Do I believe that he did it? Absolutely. Do I believe they can prove it? Absolutely not.

Also talking about paying a player is not the same as paying a player.

Wade could say he was just going along with the conversation because he didn’t want to burn a bridge with the guy and had no intention of paying anyone.

What he said in the transcripts is very vague anyway.

Said it before again will say huge weekend for Tiger basketball, Trendon Watford is on his official visit think we land him because of Armstrong.

Our class will be

PG Bishop 6'2 (Baltimore, MD) 3* should be 4
Wing Charles Manning 6'6 (JUCO, Florida) JUCO 3*
Wing Lester Quinones 6'5 (IMG Bradenton, FL)
F Trendon Watford 6'9 (Birmingham, AL) 5*
C Khadim Sy 6'10 (JUCO, FL) 3* should be 4*

For those that have not followed Trendon Watford out of Birmingham is on an official this weekend for LSU-Bama it is I would say a dead even three way race between us Bama and Memphis. I think we pull it out in the end, great kid that will be the guy for this class. Quinones is the glue guy that will play immediately. Top 20 class only because of the JUCO guys but they all fill needs and we are looking at a strong 2019-2020 squad.

Lester Quinones is a five start talent. Kentucky has reached out to him lately. I hope that you are correct in him commiting to LSU.

Good, not a need nor does he fit our style of play, wish him all the best and glad he is staying instate.

Also very good visit for Watford on his visit. Great representation for LSU as he saw the campus before the game. Also small tidbit the practice facility was a huge selling point. Again think we land him over Alabama and Memphis.

I feel strongly that LSU will receive a commitment from CJ Walker relatively soon. My primary reason I believe we will get this commitment is due to unofficial recruiting on part of Emmitt Williams, Antonio Blakeney and now Ben Simmons. All four played on the AAU team "Each One Teach One". All three from my understanding are preaching the benefits of attending LSU. Walker and particularly Blakeney and Williams are extremely close. Look for Walker to commit to LSU (I guarantee).

You’ve called a few guys before on here so this is some really good news.

My question is, if we get Walker, is Watford still a take? Both are in that 3/4 swing man mold

Would be hard to say no to one or the other. Basketball, especially college, is starting to become positionless, so you could have them both on the court as both are expanding their range. They both attack the rim well and I think that's something Wade wants more

You've got a presumed five spots (Edwards, KBW, Waters, Reid, Sims) and basically six players to fill it with:

Bishop *Commit*
Quinnones
Manning *Commit*
Walker
Watford
Khadim Sy/N'Faly Dante (if he reclassifies)

Absolutely, you dont turn down 5-star talent, ever. This class will have 5 players in it IMO. We need bigs badly too, KBW will be gone after this year, so will Naz Reid, that leaves us with 2 returning bigs in Williams and Days, that's it. We should get 3 bigs in this class. 1 JUCO and then Watford/Walker would be great there. Also have to leave room for N'Faly Dante if he reclassifies from 2020 to 2019.

The only question would be how much they value him. He’s a 5* but they might not have him valued as much as others like Walker. You never know with this staff.

A top priority, no doubt about it. We need 3 bigs this class so we definitely arent stopping at Walker.

I get what you are saying, but it’s possible he isn’t a need if guys return. If you get Taylor, Williams, Days and Walker for next year, a true post is more of a need than a swing forward is

Has had a dominant first 2 games at Daytona State:

41 minutes, 45 points, 18-25 FG (72%), 4-10 3PT (40%), 14 boards, 6 assists, 3 turnovers, 7 blocks, 3 steals

He will be one they monitor really close. He's listed at 6'10, 245. Great big body replacement for KBW.

Watford can play the 3, 4 or 5 in college, he's a versatile player. He's also quite a bit bigger than CJ Walker.
