1. He has only played a fair share of snaps at a true safety position.

2. GA Tech was his one time to play safety the entire game and everyone felt he played great.

3. No one has ever seen him at LB.

4. As much as people hate to admit it, we have a need at safety just as much as LB. Curtis Taylor and Coleman last year were not the answer--Hatcher/Mccray are both strong safeties...we don't have a true free safety until Loston arrives this year. CJ is the closest thing we have to a true FS.

Haha, I mean, I know the rules and I have bought into many a game. I'm not sure if you would call what I do "playing" though.

He will be a terrific player an either position. He IS a terrific player. Period. He will play at the next level. And, while I have great anticipation of seeing Loston on the field, he has yet to play a down. Both of these players are people I am VERY happy to have at LSU.

Loston will be a beast. I cannot wait to see him play.

He was lined up in the box more than any nickle-back/safety I have ever seen. It was clear to me that the coaches wanted Jones on the field as much as possible.

Loston does project as a similar player as Berry, but the question is whether he will be given the opportunity Eric was given at Tenn.

VERY few people can legitimately start at both CB and FS. Eric Berry was constantly switching back and forth between the two until this past year where he settled down into FS.

Loston projects the same kind of ability but will probably start at nickelback rather FS for LSU. (Even him starting at nickel may not happen). Flat out--LSU is LOADED in the secondary and even a player of Lostons caliber has to beat both Ron Brooks, Phelon Jones, and Brandon Taylor at the nickel spot. That is the CBs competing for that spot and then you have Hatcher, Francois, CJ, and Mccray that all rotate throughout the defense.

It is very hard to predict how he will be used when no one knows that Chavis' defense will look like in the coming years.

In short, yes Loston has EB potential.
