For now the fans are the real losers, in terms of enjoying the development of their favorite college team towards a NC. But as this process develops further, the fans will lose more interest and the money will begin to dry up somewhat...then the pain will be spread more evenly...the players and the administrations will get their share of grief in the long run...jmho...hide and watch!
And when everyone stayed all four years, you only got a year or two of upper classmen playing, so its not really all that different. Except the part where college football is more popular now than ever before.

And this is why adult fans will continue to lose a degree of interest...no consistency, no chemistry and cohesion, hap-hazard play, no identity with players--here today, gone tomorrow--and never hear from most of them ever again...in other words, the college amateur game is gone for now...there is little if any connection between the fans and the players...even LSU graduates are beginning to see the disconnect...jmho...
See above. Popularity is at an all time high. And before you talk about people not going to games, that is a nation wide issue and its a lot more about HD TVs than the performance on the field.

I think he's saying we've been fine without him...at least that's what I took from it.
Exactly. It was about how people freak out bc we don't get every player we go after.

I might drip it into an excel file once the draft happens. Does anyone know where you can get a cst file or just raw data with draft rankings or can you download from rivals?
Simple vlookp and the analysis is done.

Other than Tyson Jackson, I can't think of a Tiger that has been drafted highly after a senior season. Until there's more examples for coaches to use to sway players to come back, I believe the trend will continue.
The rookie wage scale has made the decision to jump more enticing for players seeking to get rich on their 2nd deal; however, there is still incentives to stay and improve ones stock. The difference between being selected 25-50 over thoss outside the top 100 is still significant, imo.

People on TD want to make it sound like its an LSU thing but its the new way now in college football.
95 this year, 73 last year. It is not an LSU problem. It is an NCAA problem.
