If he does end up at LSU, what kind of impact will he have this season? I have not seen much of him at all and am curious. I know much of him playing depends on injuries/Emery situation. Wondering if he’s a potential starter for us or maybe 3rd down back? TIA

Another decent back. Not super eye opening but steady enough to take carries and run downhill.

Unless someone steps up and separates themselves, I think we will have running back by committee again with Josh Williams probably being the primary just because of his reliability.

So odds are he will be another rotational piece if he comes here. Honestly, his ability to pass-block, specifically pick up blitzes, may be a determining factor in how much playing time he gets.

Until he is in camp, I am not sure we really have any idea.

Isn’t Williams still hurt? I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting to see if he can round back into form.

I'm sure CBK knows the status of all the RBs, and that is why he is looking to supplement the group...

Williams had knee surgery early this year I think. I believe he was in spring practices though not initially and limited, at least according to what BK said way back. Goodwin is actually more of a concern as he will not see practice until just before the season starts also based on what BK said way back.

I agree. Diggs and Kaleb Jackson will be the most talented backs in the room while you mix in Williams and Cain.

Cain/Diggs/Williams 3-headed monster

Would watch for Godwin to transfer if Diggs comes in

Wouldn’t Godwin have to sit a year if he transfers?

He has pretty good hands. ND threw to him a lot out of the backfield

I thinks he’s a better version of Noah Cain, when Noah Cain was a better version

People are dying for him to be here, which I think is silly as hell, but the dude is no better than what we have. Barely averaged 5 yards per carry last year and averaged 4.4 yards per carry the year before.

We had 3 RBs go over 5 yards per carry, and a 4th was literally right under at 4.93 (Diggs 4.98).

I'm so tired of the stupidity of thinking we need 7 running backs to go through a season.

In 2011's true RB by committee, we had 4 RBs with at least 62 carries and a QB with 75. We had a 5th RB with 27. Two of the five RBs were freshman. That was a heavy run team that averaged over 42 carries a game to our over 36 per game in 2022. The difference in rushing yards total was only 300 yards though. This 2022 team had more rushing TDs and a higher rush average too. We averaged 5 yards per carry last year rounded up (4.97). Notre Dame averaged 4.62.

Don’t sleep on Noah. Dude got stronger every game and looked really explosive by end of year and even more so into spring. Predicting a Charles Scott type of breakout year.
