Why you may ask? If you think about it saban had a down year after his first natty and look at he didnt have as much roster turnover as we did orgerons recruiting can keep us in contention for years winning the first is about establishing the culture.

2019 Is when we starting getting top 5 classes getting a ton of great recruits
2020 Even better due to national championship
2021 Potential to be #3 could be 2 we have all of our top targets still on the board
2022: We are the favorite to land the #1 class

And so on in so forth in conclusion this is recruiting like bama and clemson that gives them the title of reloading next year it could be special to orgerons is gonna keep us competing for championships for years. Buckle up its just getting started

I think we will look who we have on the board left
Leigh: Seems heavy Lsu
Foreman: Lsu Lean but not over yet
Smith: Seems Like LSU lean but georgia is in it
Ryan: Family connections to LSU seems like a lean
Thomas Jr: To quiet to tell

Obviously there are more but some are were not getting like mckinistry

We have been horrible in recruiting our current players to come back. Probably the worst in the entire country. If that doesn’t improve, we will never reload. We will have a great season here and there, but to reload like Bama and Clemson we need to not have all of our Juniors leave. Not have our best players opt out. It won’t matter how good we recruit high schoolers.

I agree CEO was doing a great job of building a culture, but the problem is that the enitre "culture" walked out the door in January.

This year he failed to establish that culture again. There are no true natural leaders on this team.

Hopefully its because of covid, but its something to watch going forward.

I agree we have to change the culture. Right now, the culture is bolt for the NFL at the first chance you get.
Imagine if this team had:
Chase
Vincent
Shelvin
Saahdiq Charles
Cushenberry
Thad Moss

We would be 3-0 right now. Say what you want, but Alabama, Ohio St, Clemson don't lose players like this. They don't lose 4-7 round picks as Juniors. Alabama had 3 players that could have been 1st rounders come back: Najee Harris, Devonte Smith, and Alex Leatherwood. There is no way those players stay for their senior years at LSU.

Don't hear what I'm not saying though. I'm not saying any individual players should have stayed or should have left early. I'm just saying we have to do a better job of convincing them to stay or we will never be on their level consistently.

Foreman and Mason are the kind of guys who can dominate the LOS.

BJ Roy, Mason and Foreman is the core of a championship DL. They’re the kinda guys that can get pressure when you rush 4

We need more DBs. Specifically corners in this Class.

Transfers from McNese are going to cripple us

Agreed but also has to be roster management. So not a lot of 5 star db's and wr's and no qb or linemen.

This is wrong. The reason we're in the mix for the #1 class in 2021 and 2022 has a lot more to do with LSU's 2020 draft class and the number of tigers in the nfl than it does with our national championship. You think we're recruiting guys like Arik Gilbert telling him he'll be at LSU for 4 years? If a recruit asks coach o where coach o sees him in 4 years, do you think o is gonna say "i see you competing for a national championship in your senior season"? Hell no--he's gonna say "i see you buying your mom a house with the millions of dollars you'll be making".

The fact of the matter is that the more kids we put in the NFL, the more stud recruits we'll get, and the better our odds will be to compete for national championships. It's pretty damn hard to tell a kid to come back to school when he has literally nothing left to accomplish. Lack of success "recruiting juniors" isn't our problem at all; I guarantee that we'd have had more guys back from last year's team if we hadn't won it all.

I don't agree.

Arik Gilbert
Im not talking about the Arik Gilberts of the world. Elite players should leave early.
Im talking about Thad Moss, Saahdiq Charles, Jacob Phillips, Toby Weathersby, Ed Alexander, Kevin Tolliver, Malachi Dupree, Jerald Hawkins, junior opt outs, and so on. Fringe NFL players drafted in the later rounds or undrafted leaving early. We need to do a better job of convincing them to stay.

You putting out names to just put out names. A couple of those guys didn't opt out per se. They transferred out.

Um no. Every player I listed left after their junior year and was drafted in the 4th round or later, or not drafted at all, within the last 4 years. Several players mentioned didn't make an NFL roster or just made the practice squad for a year or two. Not a single player mentioned transferred to another school.

Recruiting has its place and it’s important, but if you can’t get guys to understand the defense, even if they are world beaters, it won’t make a lick of difference. We have more than enough talent on defense right now to beat most of the conference and most of the nation and yet we got absolutely abused defensively by two teams who combined in their other two games have scored 31 points and 16 points. Those teams are bad. Period. And LSU is so poorly coached defensively that they made each of those teams look like legit threats in their respective divisions.

How do we rebuild our roster if we only have 68 scholarship players and get back to the 85 limit or whatever it is
