quote:Great post! I forgot about demond williams he was on the same team as lionel turner, at times I felt we was a better prospect than Lionel was. My mom taught at walker and she stills talk about Johnny Ray today and how awesome he was as a person and a football player. Guerin sure produced some running backs just ran them in the ground needed a big time qb and we could have been doing something in walker

Randy Durbin was another walker star that their career got cut short. Had a scholorship to northwestern that got revoked after he hit someone with a bat (if I remember correctly killing the person) that were trespassing on his land and sprayed him with pepper spray. I think he was just raw and could have just developed more in college and made something of himself. Terrible

Joe Bob Harris from Independence was better in high school than Cecil. But he was one dumb MoFo.

Had a scholarship to LSU. Got caught at the baseball field with weed in his car. He is a good guy though, I expect him to do well at SU and in the future.

Does anybody remember Paul Nixon who played at Covington?
He was better than any running back on the Northshore around 88-90.

Tim Bush-W. Jeff BB don't think he ever made it to Tulane but was a complete stud had a 13 on his ACT.
Darryl Johnson '03 DB OP Walker- Couldn't get into LSU did he ever make it to SU?

Yeah I remember Paul Nixon at Covington really well. He ended up at Southern and actually started at some point. I saw alot of his games back in the day but I can tell you without a doubt that Nilo Silvan at St. Pauls was a bit better during that time frame. Nilo was one of the fastest people I have ever seen play football as well as soccer. We used to argue in Jr High about who was better. Being the running back at Covington back then meant something to the younger kids.

I know what you mean. I didn't know if Nixon could get into school anywhere.
Nilo was faster, but it just seemed like Nixon could run you over or out run you.
Nilo went to Tenn right?

Yeah he went to Tenn and was switched to reciever. He was kicked out of school as a Junior for some off the field behavior and signed with Tampa Bay. He played one season as a kick returner. Nixon was quite good still but I think Nilo would have been close to a 5 star player if the rankings existed at the time.
