Let's put HS recruiting/transfer portal into perspective

Kelly has been pretty well balanced building the roster from both HS and the transfer portal compared to some other programs in similar positions. A&M and Florida have been hemorrhaging the last few years in the transfer portal compared to LSU. Take it for what it's worth

Stop spouting all these facts and shite. There will be no logic on this board.

I think as Kelly is able to build the roster we’ll be less and less dependent on the portal.
We’re even seeing that this year to some extent. Hopefully we get to a place where LSU is only using the portal for high end talent.

I agree that as Kelly builds our roster, we will be very selective in the portal, only filling needs with elite talent. However, as we build our roster, I expect more players transferring out since playing time will be limited. It will be very hard to build and maintain quality depth unless the right culture is built. The importance of QB’s staying to their 5th year is being shown now, year after year. Look at each QB at the Heisman ceremony this year, Burrow and etc. Other positions are harder due to the wear on their bodies but if a player hasn’t reached their potential then that extra year can pay off huge in the NFL draft. That’s what needs to be pounded in to their heads.

Now compare us to teams that are competing for the SEC championship and winning it.
I love the comparisons and the data. But Florida and Texas A&M are horrible programs at this point.

Okay. Three teams have played in the SECCG since Kelly arrived. Bama and UGA have the #1 and #2 rosters in the nation
Kelly is doing more with less compared to the rest of the SEC while improving the roster.
Your point is stupid

You compared us to two absolute dumpster fires.
One just fired its coach and is allowing E Robinson to recruit it’s guys to Syracuse.
The other had an awful year and it will get worse next year.
Compare us to them all you want. You picked two bad programs to compare three time champ-winning lsu to. It’s not all that dumb of a point.
It wasn’t even a criticism.

I shouldn’t have said stupid. That’s my bad. I was comparing them because Napier came in same time as LSU and is a comparable program. Compared A&M because they had that great recruiting class. I wanted to really highlight the rosters being depleted.
You’re seeing something like 17 players transfer out and not equal talent come in.
So yes they’re dumpster fires today but that’s only because their roster management hasn’t been good the past three years.
I didnt compare us to bama and Georgia because Kelly has a sample size of two full seasons compared to 8 at Georgia and 17 at bama

Nice:
Left out 2024 talent composite
Left out SEC ranking
You guessed it probably not even top 8.
MSNBC reporter I see
