Its not just West Monroe where this happens. It may be where it started to grow at but alot of schools all over the state have kids that have held back either for academics or for sports. Are you telling me that if you thought your kid would have a better chance to succeed in sports and maybe get a college scholarship if you held him back, you wouldnt?

My nephew is probably going to hold back and it has 0 to do with athletics. It has everything to do with 6th grade going to junior high now. He's still a child and very naive. He's not ready to be around sex/drugs. It will probably be perceived as holding back for athletics though due to him being a great athlete.

that's a shame, there's no excuse for parents not having their kids ready for sex and drugs by the sixth grade.

I don't want him exposed to all of that shite. He's the nicest kid you'd ever meet, but he's definitely a child.

And doesn't necessarily have any thing to do with sports. Instead of holding back my son, I started him a year later - turned 6 the first month of kindergarten. This will have him turning 18 when his senior year starts. I was in college at 17 - that was way too soon.

Rays Pee Gee was great, use to eat there all the time when I worked at the airport in the late 70's, but also loved Johnny's Pizza, have to go by there everytime I come back home.

I ate at Johnny's in Ruston on 12/23/09.

Haven't eaten at Ray's in five or six years.
