I say 3 to 5 cbs. 2 or 3 rbs, 2 safeties, 2 to 3 qbs. Always need 2 to 4 offensive lineman. After these needs are met. Then you fill out the class according to play on the field this season at the other positions.

Try your damndest to at least get the top 12 in Louisiana, then look at what needs are still there and recruit accordingly.

This^^^

It’s imperative they lockdown the state next year especially considering how stacked Louisiana is for 2019

Go after a 3 star with potential for depth. Go after at least 4 4 stars qb. And go after a couple of 5 star qbs and pray for a miracle that one decides to come here. Showing love to a 3 star with decent offers early would probably get a commit. By end of senior season he could be a 4 star.

4-5 CBS, 2 safeties, 3-4 LBs, 3-4 DL, 4 OL, 2 WR, 2-3 RBS, 1-2 QBs, 1-2 TE/FB, and whatever is left best available.

Things will change between now and December on numbers base don transfers and whatnot. But I'd say definitely:

2 QB - If McMillian transfers and we are left with just Narcisse/Brennan, could also fill 1 spot with a transfer

2-3 RB - Really you go all out for Emery, Cain and keep Davis. We only lose Brosette but we just dont have talent here like we used to. Fix it.

0 FB - Need to stop handing out scholarships for this dying position and having 2 or more on the team at once. Ducre will be a senior and Carter a sophomore, just ride with Carter and a walk on there for the future. Maybe offer another guy in the 2020 or 2021 class if you find one there.

1-2 WR - We just picked up 4 WRs plus a transfer and have no senior on the 2018 team so we dont really need more than 2 this class, Lee and Palmer are right here so just get them...if you end up with 1, not a big deal

1 TE - We have 2 senior TEs in Moreau and Washington, replace 1, we dont need more than 5 TEs, nobody big in state right now with them thinking Ray Parker is an OT more than TE

3 OL - We only have 1 senior offensive lineman this year, Traore is the only junior who will likely start it seems, so I think the number is 3 right now. Might end up with Thomas, Perry and Parker. Cant stop recruiting Green though.

2 DL - This is impossible to project right now. We have no seniors, but have 3 juniors who could all potentially go pro in Alexander, Lawrence and Fehoko. Let's assume we lose 2, go hard for Sopsher and hold onto Evans. IF we lose 3 guys on the DLinemen, look for 1 more.

2 LB - White will certainly go pro, but we have no seniors at all here, so for the entire group of the 4 LB spots, right now cant say you need more than 2 at the moment. Donte Starks is your inside guy, find 1 outside guy too probably.

4-5 CB - Bottom line we F'd up this position this past recruiting class. Greedy you assume will go pro, Paris will likely be moved back to CB and is a senior. We should have gotten 2 this class so minimum you need 4 and try and grab 5 if you can. This number could go even higher if Fulton never makes it back. Hold onto Hampton if possible, Stingley is your top target and you want to keep Bush in state. Go get an elite OOS guy too.

1 S - Battle will be back and he's the only senior, no juniors. Just need 1 really, we're pretty deep at safety. If you grab enough corners this cycle Joseph can go play safety as well.

1 K - They have their target in Reichard out of hoover in AL, Tracy is only here this year so we really should find someone to replace him because Culp and Gonsoulin just looked bad. Hopefully Culp can figure it out though

1 LS - The buford high pipeline continues, guess we're still giving scholarships to long snappers these days

0-1 P - Growden is a junior this year, so you start to seriously consider replacing him in the 2019 class if you can find a guy you really like

yes, and what makes me nervous is that 3 of these guys are from Amite or Kentwood, lately a bastion of bama supporters. also, when Louisiana talent is rich all of the top schools recruit the state very hard. bama, florida, fsu, a&m, tejas and even ohio state spend a lot of time here. we are surrounded by great recruiters. need to add Clemson and Sweeny to that list.

Someone needs to rent a sky banner that says "YOU HAVE TO SIGN QBs AND CBs" and fly it over the football ops building everyday, otherwise 0 may forget like he did in the last class.

Just make it simple. Target the kids that Saban isn’t.

So we have 25-27 to sign (pending any transfers between now and then).

Valiant effort... but your low # is 20 and your high # is 24. Your low # needs to be 25.

So definitely bulk up more on both lines. 4 CB’s and 2 SAF. It’s called a “front 7” for a reason, so absolutely need more DL and LB (you have 4 total).

Also, in my opinion, your logic of only looking at SR or NFL departures is flawed. Not considering attrition across the board is flawed and what has gotten our staffs in trouble in the past (both recent and previous). That’s why you take a FULL and BALANCED class every year.

That's because I'm looking at things right now, fact is we wont know a high number till end of next season with who goes pro, who transfers and where those are coming from. Can't just project that all out right now. Some might be more obvious than others, but anyone can transfer, come back for senior year, or go pro really. I made some assumptions, but even in some of those like OL I said if you get 4 not a big deal.

Until much much much later from now, we wont know where we need fill transfer holes until, well, those guys transfer.

His numbers are right. Recruiting is fluid. Ever changing. In 6 months we will have a better grasp on things and recruits we don't see now will be possible takes.
Provided our staff understands how to lock down a recruit and keep him in the future.

According to 0, we might just save those 25 spots for 2020.
