I've only seen Ford on tape, I'm not overly impressed. I just don't see where he breaks many tackles. Someone might say otherwise. As for as Lacy goes, he seldom, if ever, gets knocked backward. The highlights you see him against were some of the best defenses in the state, all 4 or 5A schools. This year, add 10-15 lbs with the speed, and you've got a monster. Some knock his "running style", but fact is he is tough to tackle. I'd say he compares to Alley Broussard in HS. Also, I don't think Adrien Peterson's running style will be effective in the NFL.

The 6 LaGrange defenders he ran over disagree with you.

Just who happens to be the best overall back and why?
He gets overlooked alot now that he committed, but Ford is the better back. Ford might be the best pure back to come out of LA since Faulk. McKnight was a better athlete, but Ford is a better pure runningback.

Lacy relies too much on that spin move that may, or may not, translate onto the college level.

Ford is a bruiser, with a bit of a shake in his hips, and enough speed to be a homerun threat. He reminds most people who have seen him play of a Cecil Collins clone. . .without all the crazy.

All that being said, I'd like to have both. I would trade Lacy for Micheal or Richardson, though. I wouldn't trade Ford for any RB on the Rivals/Scout board. Ford's stock will climb if he plays the whole season, w/o injury.

With all my bias aside, I'll tell you why I like Ford better. He is strong as an ox. That will serve him well in the SEC wars. Second reason is this ... he has fantastic hands out of the backfield and knows how to operate in the spread offense. His high school coach repeatedly said he is the best receiver on the team.

One more reason. His work ethic is second to none. He will be easy to coach once he arrives at LSU. All opinions aside, I think this camp in a few weeks will go along way in showing what all these kids can do against top notch competition.

Ford's only knock is that he is "slow", and he's only got a slow first step which I expect him to improve at LSU & shouldn't affect him much anyway.

Lacy has character as well as grade concerns, but I think he'll be a very good back at some other college.

As far as which one will be drafted higher, I'll go with Ford as I agree with CajunRocks on his work ethic.

Richardson is just is strong if not more, good bit faster to. But back to the question i don't think you can go wrong with either but still like Lacy. As before though I think Pratt will be the best when it is all said and done.

I really wasn't trying to be quick or smart here. The guy that can get it together and make it to LSU next year will be hyped more. If they both make it, Ford will be hyped more because he is perceived as less trouble.

Ford is like a poor man's Emmitt Smith. He is the same size and has the same speed. We can only hope for similar results.
