Maybe this is old news, but Christian LaCouture will play DT at LSU, not DE. He is the next Brockers, imo.

LINK

He apparently checked in at 6'6, 288.

Sorry about hijacking the thread a little bit, but what is the story behind LaCouture's recruitment? He's a kid from Lincoln, NE...does he have ties to LA or something? I'm not complaining at all, I'm just curious how Les's staff reeled him in.

He lived in East Texas initally. I believe he went to the A&M campus HS, similar to U High in Baton Rouge and was always considered high on LSU through the process.

As did I. He plays inside in a good majority of his film and looks very disruptive. I like him on the interior.

He's actually from Texas originally, but when Nebraska started recruiting him, he transferred to a high school there along with his parents because his dad has an easy transferable job.

It's good he was moved to DT now instead of later on down the road because that's where he was going to play regardless. I can definitely see Brockers, but he has to put on some solid weight for that tall of a frame. Definitely needs to redshirt to get that weight on and learn some better technique for his height at the college level

He started high school at A&M Consolidated High School in College Station, Texas, which is where the LSU coaches started recruiting him. He was an A&M commit at one time. His parents moved to Lincoln, Nebraska. Once in Nebraska he switched from A&M to Nebraska.

LSU stayed after him the whole time and the rest is history.

I would normally agree, but because he is an EE he may not need it.

Side note: I believe Herron will remain at DE at LSU.

True, just depends on how quickly he can get that weight on him. At 6'6", he needs to be at least 305

Redshirting is retarded. Just give these kids five years of eligibility, period, and play them as you will.
