This past weekend weekend, we wrapped up the high school all-star game circuit as the annual All-American Bowl was held in San Antonio.

The Tigers had four signees in the 2024 class who participated in the All-American Bowl, and one of them may have done a lot to boost his stock at the end of the cycle.

On3’s Cody Bellaire listed receiver Kylan Billiot as one of several players who are trending up after their performance this week. A four-star prospect from Terrebonne (Houma, LA), Billiot ranks just inside the top 300 of the 247Sports Composite Rankings. However, that ranking could rise in the coming weeks.

Here’s what Bellaire said about his performance in San Antonio.

We were excited to learn Kylan Billiot was added to the All-American Bowl roster, feeling he is a prospect who could really move the needle with a great showing. With that said, he started the week off with a bang. We knew the athleticism and size was going to show up, but the improvement in his ball skills was quickly evident as he made multiple acrobatic catches and displayed some strong hands during the 1-on-1 period. As the week progressed, the LSU signee showed progress in his route-running and ability to separate on intermediate routes. While he has always had the top-end speed to blow by defenders on vertical routes, the ability to break off defenders at the top of the route was evident. The improvement is notable, given his limited time playing football. Billiot may have been held relatively quiet during the All-American Bowl, but the progress he’s shown illustrates his upside and ability to take coaching. The physical tools and athleticism are certainly there. There’s no question Billiot’s best football is ahead of him as he continues to improve his technical skills.

Billiot could have a path to immediate playing time as LSU loses receivers Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr. to the draft. It still returns veterans like Kyren Lacy, Chris Hilton Jr. and Aaron Anderson as well as 2023 signees Shelton Sampson Jr. and Khai Prean, who both redshirted as true freshmen.

I don’t think of Hankton as a lights out recruiter, but I do consider him a top of the scale position coach

Hankton will coach Billiot and other raw Louisiana athletes up to become bonafide NFL draft picks.

Really excited for Billiot’s future.

That's ambitious.

It's not like Nabers and BTJ were the only guys with talent on our roster.

This is LSU. We've always got dawgs at that position.

One easy way to judge WRers in an all-star game is by number of times targeted...i.e. who do the QBs trust and thus throw to. When Boutte was in one of the games, he has targeted a bunch of times. In the 2nd half of the AA game, Billiot caught multiple passes and targeted some more. He was on Team Ice and the QB threw to him for a 4th down conversion...he was well covered so INC. But if you want to know which receivers have impressed, ask the QBs. They aren't stupid...they want to look their best also!

Bellaire was a slap dick when he was here at LSU. Didn’t even play high school ball. He knows nothing.

But I still like Billiot a lot and everyone could see how great he has become.

Well what do you know….Another Louisiana recruit is being underrated by these recruiting “experts”.

It’s pretty easy to see that Billiot and Turner will both be top 15-20 WRs in the country possibly top 10 while at LSU. Being outside the top 30-40 on some of these sites is just ridiculous.

It’s the guys like Ju’Juan Johnson, that are ranked higher than these two, who I always have more questions about and concern for because they played a different position in HS than they will in college. It’s just harder to find their best position in college sometimes.

Great athletes who are still developing and sometimes are completely different year to year while in college. Makes it tough to find the best position for them. I’m excited to see who we get to fill these other defensive coaching positions.

I think our new additions at WR from last year will start showing their faces as well as the transfers. Lacey, Hilton, Anderson, (the new transfer),Parker, Sampson and Prean. That’s a solid WR room. All offseason last year we saw these young guys making some great plays. They just had a couple of first rounders in front of them. This will be their chance to shine and I think they will!

Every WR we’ve signed or recruited all mentioned Coach Hank, even the ones that chose other schools also said that they were impressed with him. These kids watch and we all hoped that someone (BTJ) would step up and damn did he. This HS recruits know - Nabers & Thomas Jr were the #1 & #5 WRs nationally. Whether they were recruited or coached up by Hank or not , that’s the perception of LSU. And far as a Recruiter and Coach, Coach Cortez is at the top in the country probably second to only Hartlne at Ohio St. Don’t fool yourself right dude is trending “lights out” both.

When are the final ranking changes made? I'm sure Billiot is one of quite a few who should move up.

Wasn’t he moved to the secondary? Maybe that was just for the bowl game and not permanent

I would imagine sometime after the Polynesian Bowl on the 19th. Not sure if before or after signing day in February

BTW Caden Dunham is playing in the Polynesian Bowl
