Coach O is making a statement to the Louisiana recruits....LSU is a NATIONAL brand and we are signing the best players in the country! With only 25 spots annually, some very good La players will have to leave the state. This is what happens when you are on top of the mountain.
Trust the recruiting staff with no reservations!

Travis etienne. Dont give a guy in your backyard the cold shoulder for some guy out of state who will probably leave you at the alter anyway.

Yeah, if only we would’ve offered Etienne earlier, we wouldn’t have had to “settle” for a running back that just went in the 1st round of the NFL draft.

Personally I think having a varied skill set at WR is preferable.

It doesn't matter what decision LSU makes about receivers for the 2021 class, it's going to sting a little either way. We can't take em all. It's just crazy how much top end WR this state produces.

and he's not close to an SEC caliber DB

He's got about a dozen D1 offers as a safety.

Why is it so shocking that Coleman might not be in this class?

If there is a better athlete in the state, I haven’t seen him

He hasn’t even specialized in football yet

You may be right. But this is prolly part of why the staff has 6-7 guys on board above him......
Just a bad year to be a mid level WR in Louisiana..... any of other year he’s a take.
But I think we have to miss on Hilton, Thomas and prolly 1 or 2 out of states for Coleman to get in.

Of course a big senior could change that.

“Mid level WR” is insulting lol

Have you watched his tape?

There’s no way they don’t fit this kid in the class. Would be a gross mishandling if that were to be the case

ok
So are you saying we aren’t aware that he is indeed going to be in class and that the staff considers him a 100% take.....?

Or are you saying the staff is currently wrong about their WR evaluation board?
Bc it doesn’t look like he’s a take at the moment.

ETA: I’m a fan of taking in state guys. Especially WRs.
But the staff clearly has prioritized some over him. Hope for a big senior year and that changes.

I don’t know why he doesn’t have an offer

But he’s clearly an athletic freak and these kids in LSU’s backyard get offers regardless of how many good WRs are abound

Gross mishandling???

I hope the kid has a monster senior year, regardless of the competition he faces, and he and LSU get on the same page. As it stands no, he hasn't shown much interest in LSU and LSU has focused on other WRs who, for whatever reason and despite the assessments of some on this board, are ranked considerably higher as prospects.

But again, let's see where everyone is in December. In May, neither party seems to want to dance.

The two guys we have plus Thomas and Hilton is the targeted class. When you have so many good skill players from the state of Louisiana you’re gonna have to let some walk

I would let any of those guys walk before losing him. But hey that's not my call

It wouldn’t surprise me if he ends up in the class.

He’s absolutely a power 5 caliber athlete.

Kid is a baller but only so many spots to fill. If coaches know we are in on these top recruits , he will not be in class. Won’t be first time or last we didn’t offer a talented kid because of numbers.

As of now that's what he is. His upside is through the roof and I don't think anyone disputes that.
Issue is twofold. No one knows if he's gonna ever concentrate on football and at this point, O and the staff maybe don't feel the chance is worth it unless Wade perhaps really wants him.
Secondly, other "elite" schools aren't prioritizing him either. Of course that's not the end all be all barometer, however, it is telling that he should be a priority to us but not other elites. Why? Is it only because he from LA? Seems like it. Bama loves Thomas and apparently we do as well. Recent history tells us that both schools seem to know what they're doing with wr evals.
It has played out so far to just be a bad year to be a freakishly athletic, mid level wr recruit. Recruiting is a long process and this year is particularly inconvenient for kids like Coleman with everything shut down. Perhaps the T-shirt and shorts competition would've helped him

Is that a joke?

Offers include oklahoma, baylor, penn st, and Auburn

Those schools finished 4th, 7th, 10th, and 12th in the country last year.
