Anybody know the "real" story about Kenyon Green and his LSU decommitment, and now commitment elsewhere. Don't get me wrong, cause LSU is a recruiting beast this year with more to come, and no fears with Lil Aggie bro (have not had a competitive game there in a long time), but I had heard that Kenyon was giving LSU another look wanting to play with Kardell and just curious if there was a chance he would come back home to the Tigers on signing day?
I previously thought it might have been the OL coaching change at LSU?
Anybody know?

He was committed to Grimes. Texas kid staying home. Staff won’t stop but expect him to stay with the Aggies.

Well I honestly think that Cregg can make a case if the LSU OL looks more dominant this year while A&M's looks confused.

I think Cregg will improve our OL substantially but we'll have to see. An OL needs to be tough and that's Creggs main deal is to be the toughest OL in the country. Make the other team give and you win.

You never know. Signing date is alost six months away and much can happen, good or bad. Just take care of business and continue working and it will fall ino place.

No doubt there were things he liked about LSU in addition to Jeff Grimes and its notlike they have to sell him on it from scratch.

Two of his HS coaches are aggies. He’s recruiting for atm similar to how Kardell is for us. It’s actually impressive we ever had him committed, but it’s all but over with.

Would love to see him come back to us, it just seems as if that ship has sailed. After a decommit it's so rare to see a kid come back and recommit. Was so worried about Stingley for this very reason. Think about it...what is the percentage of kids that recommit compared to going elsewhere....like 85-95% end up at a different school?

You right so we need to go after others but if I'm LSU, I wouldn't stop coming after him.

pretty much it from what I understand. It wasn't that he was "Grimes or bust"; it's that Grimes heading to BYU was the spark that got him looking around in earnest.

I believe he would've done just that anyway eventually. But he did have a very good relationship with Grimes. He just slowly drifted away.

Don't get me wrong with the drift comment. It wasn't for lack of effort on LSU's part. And let's not discount just how good of recruiters Brewer and Turner are. And then there's the hometown/state thing.

IF we were able to pull him back and flip him it would take:
A) combined effort of Cregg, Kardell, and probably a QB or RB

B) we'd have to show in the season some question marks get turned into at least solid players. Deculus comes to mind. He's got to see some net results to foster faith in Cregg.

C) Even though Jimbo is in his first year my gut tells me he views TAMU as a more stable situation. With Grimes we've seen his bias towards coaches and not schools by a slim margin. Something, w/l, bad press, some in-fighting, an offensive collapse, etc. would have to shake his perception that they are more stable.

Your B comment is key

If ensiminger and cregg put together a solid-dominant o line and offensive product.. we will attract so many recruits to buy into the system
