He looks really good on his films and would hate to see him go to A&M. I wish kids would just wait to announce their commitment when they are sure.

It's not catastrophe syndrome it's called reality. Not once have I ever stated that anyone was flipping. I just point out the bullshite that people believe because they want to not using the info at their disposal.
Put it like this. Just last week we had 3 silent commits, still do technically. It's pretty clear those 3 are Webb, Dumervil and Evans. Webb and Dumervil are still pretty locked in according to everyone. Yet Evans is so silent that even the insiders would likely pick TAM right now. Things change. Bama is still recruiting Jarrett and Boutte. Do you think they aren't being given hope at all or else why keep pushing so hard? We've all seen Saban work and he's not one for wasting resources if he feels he has no shot. It's kind of the same thing our staff is getting from some kids, false hope intentional or not. See Kennedy.
Y'all can call it anything you want. I just choose to call it like I see it. Y'all pander to good news while discrediting any bad news or try to chicken little others that choose not to blindly accept everything is peachy.
I'll make it clearer so I don't sound catastrophic.

The reality is that this is recruiting and NO ONE knows what will happen. The reality doesn't exist until pen meets paper and paper goes through the fax machine. Don't freak out about shite you can't control. Maybe recruiting is a little too intense for you.

You blow a gasket because people are "not using the info at their disposal". Look at the bolded words above. That is not info that is 100% speculation. It may be fact and you are presenting differently for some reason but if I asked your opinion on something and you gave it to me like that I would totally disregard and ask someone else for their opinion.

Again, this happens every damn year in recruiting. What do you want to happen. The LSU coaches to crawl under a rock? Cut the players loose because they visit other schools? NO, you do exactly what LSU is doing and sign a top recruiting class and kick some more arse.

I don't pander to good or bad news when it comes to recruiting. I have learned that in most instances the news you would think is horrible turns out to be great for the LSU program - 2 for 5 - and vice versa.

Uhmmmm....what does Chase winning the award have anything to do with Boutte? Its not like Bama hasn't had multiple receivers win national awards. Its not like LSU owns the award every year from this point forward. Finally if the kid envisions himself winning the award he should probably go to a school where he can be WR1, which probably doesn't happen at LSU.

Things are slightly different now. We think. So while they celebrate knowing that in the past the idea of a Gump Push won out 95% time, reality might have changed.
Just like with Gilbert the ground under their feet might have shifted. I see Boutte (and Rakim) as confirmation of that.
Of course things will play out, and I'm not being cliche and saying to you 'let them play out'. I am saying consider that things may have changed and their insiders might be blind to it. If they give the Gump Push AND assume it, and it doesn't work on this one... let's take note.
I don't think Boutte is trolling. I think he's truly considering it. If we win in the end that's even better. They gave it their best shot (just like Gilbert) and lost on it. That's even better.
