Not sure if I get the Tasmin Mitchell comparison. Taz was a 5-star coming out and had pretty good range. Looks like Sims will be around a mid-3 star to start with a big's game in a wing's body. He's more similar to Michael Qualls to me at this point.

It was more of a question. And no slight as Taz was a great LSU player. But just from what people are saying, he sounds like a tweener who can go inside if needed, but will end up with more of a 12 feet and out type of college game.

I heard an interview with Sims on the radio this morning. Sounds like a good kid. He said the coaches want him to play more of a 3/stretch-4 type roll.

I'll tell you this after watching them some this weekend at ull camp

He can jump. Finishes way above the rim Has nice ball skills. Didn't show much of an outside game but he didn't shoot any from outside...

He's definetly a good add

I think his skill set is closer to Jarell Martin and here me out before you start freaking out.

Ignore the couple inches just for a second. Both can post up at the four, but have the ability to develop a sorely needed perimeter game and be a good wing player. Martin started to do this his second year.

I feel like Wade is already coming in as a more polished post player than Martin was but with a lower ceiling talent wise. Wade shoots like a righty but can finish better and is more comfortable with his left. Weird, I know. He has a mature post game and understands how to play the position very well.

He can handle the ball well for his size and has a solid 15-17 ft jumper. If he wants to be a solid college player he needs to develop more range for sure.

He is an athletic kid who definitely has the ability to be that small stretch 4 or wing guy. Unless he grows some more he wont be a 5 for sure.

This is why I don't like the Taz comparison. Taz was athletic but played under the rim almost exclusively. Still really excited about Mr Sims decision to be a Tiger.

This is the exact opposite of Ben Simmons who shoots lefty but finishes around the rim with his right. So while it's not normal at all, we have a guy coming in doing the same thing this year.

Its ridiculous and he has done it since Jr High

He will actually shoot 4-5 ft jumpers lefty instead of righty.

Sorry I should have responded to the guy who posted the article which used Taz as the player comparison. That's what I was referring to.

Right off hand, first impression is what someone else said. A young Vernell Singleton who played on those Tiger teams with his father.

Of course, he is only a junior. He has his whole senior year in high school to grow both physically and ability wise. I loved the way his dad played and love that his son is following in his footsteps.

The attraction to him in my opinion is that he is an incredible athlete who finishes....like I said...way above the rim

Side note: for the brief moments I spoke to him, he seemed like a very good, down to earth person, who wasnt annoyed by a random like me asking him questions
