my question is why hasn't LSU showed much interest in this guy? I understand he is a great back up option right now if we don't get commitments from our top guys, but why wasn't he a go to guy right away? If he has half the athletic ability that Eric had he would still be a hell of a safety.

Have to think this is similar to Lanard's recruitment. Staff has probably laid it out that they'll try to make room but if a better opportunity for playing time is out there then they're free to look around. I believe he has an offer from Stanford...

I think he's a hell of a player and would love for him to be a tiger. With that being said, I would rather see him shining like a star at Stanford where he has a higher chance to see the field rather than at LSU where he might never crack the starting lineup.

That might be true, but at LSU, you don't even have to catch a ball your senior year and still get drafted.

This. I could never get mad at a kid for going to Stanford. A Stanford offer would make it hard for me to turn down no matter what. And they have a decent football team. I won't feel bad for this kid. He has a great future. Would like to have him here, though.

Plus he'd be close to Eric at Stanford.

I'll be rooting for him but I don't think he'd get as much of a chance at LSU.

Take Stanford in a second and do not look back. One of the best educations in the country.

If we land jamal peters I honestly dont think we need him. We should take him regardless, but we have a ton of depth at db already.

Makes sense. Eric Reid was pretty smart too if I remember correctly. Fortunately for Eric, he was also a first round talent.
