Hol up hol up people!!! Wait one damn minute. Who has Crutch sent to Bama besides his stepson? Some of this stuff is borderline paranoia. I can guarantee that he is not steering kids to Bama! He does have a good relationship with Saban as well as Frank. Every coach should have good relationships with college coaches. Lets calm down a bit here and see what happens!
Well its not borderline paranoia, its full blown tin foil hat wearing paranoia.
Hopefully people will read your post and understand the voice of reason when they see it
This needs special attention:

St. Aug=Private School, can get anyone that will attend. Saban now has a foothold in NOLA. Why don't you get that? Regardless of Fournette, he can now rule over NOLA when he decides who needs to attend St. Aug.
Man, Saban is really in some of y'alls head, it'd be really sad if it wasn't also so funny

I really was starting to agree with H-Town. I even posted as such earlier in this thread. I said it would take some crazy noise for me to start being worried.
Well, I now know my original line of thinking was correct.
don't agree with me, agree with delarge05, he's got better insight.

I meant I was agreeing with you that I was being paranoid. The news I read tonight, that I'm sure will get to this thread soon enough, made me realize that I wasn't being paranoid. I was being realistic.

That's kind of a big one to send though. If you think about it rationally if he and his stepson picked CNS over CLM once already
Maybe they just pick Saban over Miles. Maybe they picked Alabama, because LSU had commits from 2 in state WR that were ranked higher and Bama had 2 guys ranked about the same?

He hasn't been the coach there for long and there has been more stories coming from St. Aug way than any other school in Louisiana.
what stories are these?

OH and St. Aug has probably one of the best players that will come out of La. in a long time picking a college next year
and some how his new coach will have more influence over him than good friends like Turner, Austin and Mathieu and all the other pro LSU people he's know for years.

is the news that Fournette has committed to Alabama?
If not chances are you are still being paranoid.

Can you spill what you heard? I had a friend tell me about some stuff going on over that way today. Most of it discussed already, just wondering if you got anything new.

There is new stuff. I read it on a premium board and would like to continue to have that membership so I'm not going to post it here unless given explicit permission to do so.
But the OP of this thread said he had a talk with a former coach at Aug. Maybe delarge or St Aug 95 can update us on the coaches being brought in to replace those that were run out.

You certainly are acting like you have a dog in this fight when you stated that wasn't the case.
Also,

Only JL80 was ranked higher. ODB33 was only a 3 star with Sylve being a 4 star so again you wrong there.
Dude you are trying way too hard right now. Wonder why?

I don't even know what it is and I know you are Saban is in your head,
What do you think is going to happen? Are all the top recruits from St Aug from now on going to go to Bama? All the top recruits from New Orleans? That won't happen, I guarantee you it won't, here's a few reasons why.
First of all, as I've mentioned many, many times already. Alabama can only get 25 and 85. They simply can't just take everyone like Bryant used to do in the old days.
Next, Bama and LSU don't always agree on who the best prospects are and don't always recruit the same guys (Falkins and Baker) Just looking at St Aug, they didn't recruit Mathieu, supposedly because of his size. You really think that would be different if Crutchfield was the coach then? Maybe Crutch talks up TM to Saban, Saban's still gonna watch the film and make his decision based on that and the camps. Like I've also said, with all due respect to Turner and Austin, Bama can (and in fact does) get recruits that good from their own back yard. Again you think they showed no interest in those guys because the coach wasn't a friend of Sabans? And even if they do come in and steal a future Turner, that means there's another guy somewhere else that they can't get. Just like they come to La and get Devall, we go to Alabama and get Kwon Alexander. If they get Fournette, there will be a RB somewhere else we can go after. The LSU program didn't end when we lost McKnight and won't if we lose Fournette. 2014 is loaded with RB talent.
Last, what makes you think all the kids they want will want to go to Bama anyway? Its still much further from home than BR. Not all kids like or respond to hard core discipline like that.
Next, we still have Frank Wilson and guess what, he has lots of friends in NOLA too, including some at St Aug. You think the powers that be at St Aug would cut him off because the new coach likes Saban? Think about it.

Uhhhh, what?
A 3 star who was the 6th ranked WR and #43 player overall? Must've been a weak year for recruiting.

When Bradley Sylve committed to Bama he was way ahead of Odell Beckham in the rankings and that was the argument that H-Town was making. He was a 3-star on Espn and Scout I believe.

No he wasn't. That's the argument I'm making. OBJ was a rivals 100 player from the first time it came out and was never close to a 3 star, another argument I'm making.
Sylve also had a knee injury.

The only dog I have in this fight is logic and reason. No matter how "pro Saban or Bama" Crutchfield maybe it will not lead to a mass exodus of NO talent to Alabama and away from LSU . They might take a couple of guys like they already are. You guys are acting like its some kind of oil reserve or something, that they can just siphon off.
Alabama recruits semi-nationally. They are going after the best guys pretty much anywhere, at least in the So East, up the mid Atlantic. They are not going to be able to take everyone from La with out giving up guys else where. They are not going to take a 3 or 4 start OLman from St Aug over a similar guy from their own state or a 5 star from Virginia or Florida.

Really, the Dutchtown coach swayed Collins to Bama?
Also didn't seem to work with: Rueben Randle, Freak Johnson, Kenny Hilliard, Zach Mettenberger, Lamar Louis, John Diarse (who I was told was a Bama lock after the BCS CG btw) etc, etc.

Sorry Chief, I fact checked:
Rivals 2011 WR: #6 OBJ, #14 Sylve

#10 OBL, #20 Sylve

OK, I'll confess, I'm trying to convince myself. But deep down, I know you guys are right. LSU is fricked. Crutch going to St Aug means doom for LSU. Every big recruit from New Orleans will once again ignore LSU, they will all parade to Alabama. Crutchfield will do Saban's bidding no matter what. He will turn everyone at St Aug and across Orleans Parrish even against LSU and to Saban, his dark lord and master. LSU will never again even get a visit from a top 250 recruit. All the top prospects across the state (Willis, Robinson, Jones and all the other 2014 studs) will transfer to St Aug and commit to Bama. The days of Curley Hallman will return

no i wasn't, I have no idea when BS committed to Bama or what OBJ was ranked at that time, just where he was ranked at the end, which was higher than Sylve.

How long was Saban's extension? He is setting up NOLA to be his recruiting grounds for the future and what better than a Private School that can get anyone in the area there and his personal choice as a coach pushing those guys to him? Cmon you are better than this close minded mentality.
congrats on having the stupidest post in the thread. and that is saying something
Not only is Saban going to control St Aug, but he is going to get kids to go to school there as well. Sweet. You sir, are an idiot.
