This is what happened.

Just a puff piece written by Irish friendlies to rehab his rep after bagging on two prior commitments.

Momma said its too far. Don't question momma. Go to your room and think about what you've done.

Oh it's definitely fluff, but it's the only thing to come from the horse's mouth. Said he visited some of his friends, and after that he got upset about moving 12 hrs away from them. Contradicts that mommy had a hissy fit, but she also wasn't exactly shoving him to LSU. We'll never know what else was actually on his mind.

I don't think that a coach having too much faith in his starting QB even when the world thought the backup should be in would deter a QB prospect from coming to LSU. If anything, it would encourage them that if they won the starting spot, Miles would back them 100% regardless of the situation or the opinions of people not directly associated with the team.

This x1000. I found it laughable when nayayers tried to spin it as something that would deter a QB from coming. It's only negative if your world revolves around JL

He wanted to stay closer to home. He was actually at the airport, ready to leave for BR. At the last minute he said he was already homesick & wanted to go home. I don't have a link, but I have a reliable source @ LSU. Said he loved LSU & it had nothing to do with anything except for the fact LSU was just too far from home! Sometime it's just that simple.

Realizing he weft his binky and his widdle bankey at home he stomped his feet, looking pappy in the eyes with tears streaming down his face he exclaimed "I want my mommy"

Said the pressure to take Notre Dame to the Indepedence Bowl was easier than taking LSU to Nat'l Championship

TBH, if he wasn't dead set on being at LSU and he could be swayed that easily to decommit, then it's probably better he didn't come down and stay for a year before transferring out. At least we know he isn't a longterm commit for LSU and we can focus on getting a QB that wants to be at LSU.

if only every Tiger fan thought this logically.

BTW...op, you and people who think like you are pretty much morons. every fanbase has them....some just suck more than others.

The only thing that sucks about the decommit was losing Miller. Big time.

I take it you haven't watched ND or Kelly's, um, people skillz that were on display last season.

A lot of kids want to leave for far away, but at the last minute, realize just how 'far' far away is. It's helped LSU keep some players in state. It's hurt us when recruiting in states that are more than a three to five hour drive from BR. Hell, my own brother turned down a full ride to a *very* presigious NY college because it was too effing far from home...so my family paid for him to go to LSU instead. I moved to the west coast after graduating...after visiting and falling in love with the locale and job prospects...and after a few days actually living two plus days drive home from my family, realized that I wanted to get the eff out of there, which I did as soon as was humanly possible. shite like that happens, so it's no surprise that it happened with Kiel.

if he got homesick the best thing to do is leave, try something out and if you're that homesick after that leave. So what happens if he gets drafted to the Dolphins let say what is he going to do say oh no this to far away trade me to the colts? But besides that good luck to gunner
