Johnson may be raw but with Krag's coaching he could become raw. Just like with Swoopes he is a raw talent.

Why does everyone think he's #1 on the board just because he said the coaches told him that? That's a common recruiting pitch that's used on almost every recruit.

Do y'all really believe he's higher than Mitch and Bateman, guys who were offered way before him?

The LSU Football program needs to start pursuing a different type of QB than in previous years. It is a proven and unchangeable fact that Les Miles is a terrible evaluator of quarterback talent and is Kryptonite to the really good QB recruits. As long as CLM is our coach, this is the way it is going to be. I've witnessed too much and held my tongue way too long. Don't hold your breath on signing a good pocket passer any time soon.

STRENGTHS Running Ability / Mobility
Size
Touch
AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT
Accuracy / Consistency
Ball Handling
Release

Looks like another running/dual threat qb. Can't we get a real damn qb.

Different from Mett and Rivers? Or different from Randall and Liggins? We pursued the shite out of the #1 pocket passer in the nation last year.

Yeah, he just killed the careers of Russell and Flynn.

Next time do us all a favor and hold your breath for that long instead of your tongue.

Again, like Mettenberger?

9th

I have no idea.

I just have no idea why everyone is using words like suck to describe Johnson, he doesnt suck. He may need to work on somethings, but he looks like a pretty legit QB.

His highlight film looks ok anyhow. If someone has seen something else in person I would like to get their opinion.

Notice Mett didn't sign with LSU out of high school? I'm sure we weren't even a thought in his mind. ONly after he had the stench of a really crazy arrest record and not many other big time D1 schools would consider him, did we have a shot at him. I was never sold on CLM and never will be. You and me together with the assistant coaches he's had, could've taken LSU's talent and achieved a winning record over his same tenure. I'm not trying to bring anybody down, but I'm brutally honest and it's going to unsettle some folks.

This thread went full retard

I really wish people would realize that the JJ/JL saga was an anomoly brought on by a dumb decison by a huge talent at QB (Perrioux) and compounded by not hiring a guy that can develop QBs which lead to the least development of two qbs (of both styles) Ive ever seen.

Krags has shown the ability to improve this situation in a short time and will prove that he can truely develop qbs (dual threat or pocket) onto a far greater level of playing than the previous QBs

Not all dual threat QBs are JJ, not all pocket passers are JL. Stop overreacting to the results of one class of QBs

Mett could turn our QB woes around.A good year, and perception will change IMO.

You wont be holding long, or is Mett not a pocket passer? Was Jl not a pocket passer? What about zach lee? Is stephen rivers an option qb?

Les didnt recruit flynn, but a lot of people use him as a standard. Well flynn threw for 8tds and ran for 12 his sr year of highschool, he was not a pocket passer and was actually our best running qb from 03-07.

I love when people post the first brain fart that comes to mind when our top 2 QBs we have right now are pure pocket passers. Also, so many have this misconception of the terms "dual threat" and "pocket passer"

They think mauk and flynn were pocket passers, hmmm i wonder why? Jmarc and Lee are the closest thing we had to a pure drop back qb.
