You think LSU lands any of these five, UNC? Any chance Gathers moves to a basketball school in the North? What star ranking do you see these guys getting?

thanks, man. It's great hearing recruiting news in basketball.

UNC may have a better feel on this than I do, but being that his family is in the Reserve area and the entire Reserve Christian basketball program picked up and moved to Riverside I don't see him going anywhere.

Gathers is from Reserve. His older brother played football at East St John and Ga Tech. Defensive end if I remember correctly.

Gathers will not leave Riverside unless Byrd leaves.

As for Tre Drye he is a very good player that needs to develop a shot to be a complete player sy the next level. IMO he won't go to LSU but most likely Okie State with teammate Brian Williams. Oklahoma State was down watching both Williams and Drye tonight vs Istrouma and also St Joe's was in town to watch him along with McGhee from Istrouma

I don't think the issue is whether Drye will go to LSU. I think it's an issue of whether he would get an offer. With limited scholarships (maybe "scholarship") next year, Drye would have to pull a Tyrus Thomas in my opinion and sprout a few inches.

How tall is he? 6-6, 190 power forwards are not in big demand.

Bubba-I agree, Drye is not HM-High Major talent right now. At this stage he is LM-Low Major talent but he could move up to MM-Mid Major level. He has to put in the work. At his present ht and wt he should be working on facing the basket, putting the ball on the floor and definitely his mid-range shot.

6'6" 205 lbs. he is mid-major type right now but with an improved shot and better handles he can get to high major easily but at Glen Oaks and playing the Center for them is killing his game. Against Tarik Black(6'8" PF signed with Memphis) Tre had a double double on him and made jumpers. He has the ability to play the post now but needs to grow to be consistent. He is right now like I said a mid-major player.

That is a joke, it has to be. He could make an impact in the C-USA right now.

I like this kid. He is small but a very good shooter and tough. A little light weight but a player. He is low-mid but most likely a Sun Belt/Southland type kid.

UNC-while i respect you as an evaluator, i am in the evaluating business also, and we seem to have a difference of opinion on Dyre. From what i have seen of your evaluations, you tend to overrate some of the La. guys. While I think it's great that you are trying to help but let's not try to give them a push up the ladder. You and I had a debate last year concerning your evaluation of the Eackles kid, in which i rated him as LM-Low Major at best, you countered with saying he was definitely HM-High Major material, and LSU and Trent Johnson made a mistake not offering the kid. Well guess where he signed? Nowhere near High Major nor Mid Major school. So again I respect your opinion on some of these kids but we will just have to agree to disagree on Dyre at this stage in his career.

Fair enough. But Eackles signing with Oakland wasn't his best decision. He had offers from Nebraska and Butler as well. Chose oakland because it was in Detroit area and he gets to work with the NBA guys in the offseason.
