You people kill me with posts like this. So and so would be perfect for another team's system. WTF is that? Are you a fan or a fricking plant giving recruits and family members who read this shite doubts about LSU's program? This does nothing but sow seeds of doubt in the mind, perhaps validating the cons against the team you claim to be a fan of.
As much bitching that happens on this board about "dont say this and that because recruits read this board"....Well when a schools own fans think a recruit fits better somewhere else that isn't good for a recruit to see either.

This is what makes no sense to me. Recruiting will not cost you your job as a coach. Wins and losses does and I have a feeling that we will have a good year, not a NC year, but a good year. How many top recruits have left the state of Texas and Florida and you do not see Urban Meyer or Mack Brown's job in jeopardy because of that.
yes wins and losses determine if a coach keeps his job. but if we go 8-4 again, and you see guys that have long said they were LSU fans like hill and landry leave then i think recruiting does factor in on a decision to replace a coach. and LA is different from TX and FL. lots of the top guys in those states are split between different big time instate schools and OOS schools. plus both of those states produce enough talent year in and year out that losing one or two doesnt hurt them as bad. fans and the administration dont like to see kids in LA, that have an LSU offer, leave the state. LSU is known for, more than any other school IMO, keeping big time recruits in state. now losing one every couple of years, it happens. but when there are more than one from the same class and it happens every year, then that might be a cause for some concern.
while that has not happened yet, and i am not saying it will, just wanted to state thats when the concern should come in.

quote:Did you not watch LSU last year? We are a pass happy offense (to a fault at times) that runs out of the pistol shotgun, with WR reverses, screens, etc. Again, how is Auburn's offense a better fit?
similarities with Auburn. A lot of funky motion, shotgun, runs involving WR's
And let me guess, a HS team that runs alot of reverses, screens, and throws to their 5* WR is odd? Stupid...

Exactly who have we lost over the past 8 years? Joe Mcknight and maybe you can say Reed.
these kids want to visit, take in the process, and have some fun. they have showed their hand. they "want" to be tigers. If lsu recruits them well, does well on the grid iron, then they are ours. end of story. Committed or not committed, it would take something very drastic for them to go elsewhere.
i do not see a problem with the offense this season. I've always felt the lack of O last year was due more about a lack of personnel than coaching. We will have a quality full back possibly two this year. I see our rt guard and left guard play improving. i believe the replacement at left tackle will provide as good or better production than last year. I see our qb improving. All this will result in much better offensive production. We'll have some sort of running game which will result in a better passing game.
i think people have underestimated the loss of herman johnson, helms, and q johnson. These three alone provided one of the top running games in the s.e.c. the year before.

Guys, sorry I'm just being objective. Their system is a lot like Auburn's.
If Landry is the fan he claims, he should go to LSU no questions. He can be a beast there also. He's still a great fit at LSU. I'm not trying to "sow seeds" in their minds. They'll make the decision best for them. I hope its LSU.

This is going to be a long year if everytime something like this comes out and people panic. These kids are just enjoying the process.Let them enjoy it.They'll be at LSu next year.If we are hearing rumors like these next January then people can panic but certainly not in FEB 2010.If these kids held the hard line and said I'm going to LSU no matter what then other schools wouldn't let them visit. They are plaing the game.Any school in the country could ask Landry if he likes them and he would say yes.It helps to keep people intrigued.ESPN is going to run with any story concerning these guys in LA this year because it will keep people interested. If other fanbases and their recruiting sites want to get thrilled and happy about LA kids visiting them then let them. They'll be just that more disapointed when they inevitalby sign with LSU.This stuff sells subscritpions. We as LSU fans have to control our urges to blow things out of proportion this year.We are going to hear stuff about these guys all year.We rule LA and that will not chnage no matter how many schools think they can change it.

It's going to be a long year. Should we count the number of threads like this one? When it's all said and done he should be a tiger.

and they said that long before they committed. I wouldn't sweat Landry or Hill.
its one thing to say what hill said, still committed but taking visits, its another to say you are now open to anyone.
of course this isnt the first or last time we will sweat out rumors on the big 5/6.

In state early commitment rarely switch and decommit....it does happen..i.e. JJ to UT but I think it's rare
It will be a long year following Jarvis..He seems like the type to look around and say things...but in the end, I believe he will be stick with LSU..
If I was being heavily recruited, I would take all 5 of my visits and enjoy it all..but in the end...follow your heart straight to Baton Rouge..

This class will only stay together with a successful year on the field. No way Miles is going to convince these guys to come to LSU with another 4 or 5 loss season.
