Can’t help but think Gee is nudged out. Kinda surprised.
But no way in hell can you sign 5 safeties in one class. Unless one or two gonna bulk up and play LB.

No way? Does this mean we are losing one of our 3 safeties!!!!!!

Or could this be a 4safety draft class bc of top end talent? Or maybe we project sage or Davis as a CB?

Very weird. Gee was good enough for an early offer but not a homeboy that’s higher rated (not that rankings are everything by any means)

Still leads to the theory that LSU may have had to promise Sage a CB spot or he was going to Bama

That’s what I’m thinking, he might have lost his spot. Gilbert is intriguing because he’s already a big hitter and he’s not even 180 yet.

Why would Gee out and not Langlois?

They just offered Langlois, plus hes Louisiana. Maybe he doesn't make it into the class, but it looks like were going to have an unbalanced team next year.

Because you don’t offer Langlois late like this only to process him. IMO Langlois is locked in

You would think they learned their lesson after last year’s debacle but no. We’re going to have to watch them bungle their way through the processing of players again. What’s funny is LSU loading up on safeties while Major Burns is getting playing time on an infinitely better defense.

Does this hint that someone already committed has eligibility issues (grades, nothing else)?

I have no idea who, and am not guessing.

But am I reading this wrong that might be the logic behind some of the offers (collectively)?

Every big time school processes kids in recruiting, as do big time recruits process schools. It's just how recruiting works.

Some people are going to have to make way. Theres rumors of them wanting Nabers to commit ASAP, plus Gilbert. That alone means one departure before Korey/Maason/Leigh. Add to that we MUST GET another O lineman, and numbers will be played.

yep. It is the cost of doing business in the P5. Hell, even G5 schools have to do it.

If the NCAA wants this reduced they can split into 3 divisions (P5 and G5 schools get separated) and increase the scholarship limit to, say for example, 120.

[If you do it for Div-I as it stands now it will lead to an advantage for P5 schools assuming they can more readily afford a significant increase in scholarships and the athletic infrastructure to support them]

Come on. There’s a difference between dropping 1-2 kids who had bad senior years to what LSU tried to pull last year. They dropped kids who had been committed for a very long time only to whiff on landing their replacements.
Again, Major Burns was told he wasn’t good enough while LSU’s nickel and safeties this year are atrocious. He’s getting playing time on a much better defense at Uga.
