He seems like a long shot for the Tigers, but I would love to see him don a Tigers BB and FB uniforms. Maybe he can follow the mold of Jones and Mitchel, wearing national championship rings in baseball and football.

Agreed. Definitely not the QB Bama fans try to make him out to be.

Completely unimpressed with him at the UA game.

Same from me. I was just never impressed with him, and I was never interested in LSU signing him.

please elaborate how winston fits into the lsu "offense." 2 up the middles, and a fail short side option? real pro-style qb please.

He's overrated.

And his release is like JJ's.

if hes any good at baseball he will prolly leave after his 3rd year anyway. If he goes to bama, hes gonna sit behind AJ for his first 2. I hope bama wastes a scholly on that.

I can honestly say that it won't bother me to not get Winston after seeing him in the AA game. He could turn out to be a pretty good QB for some school somewhere, but I think that he will need at least a couple of years at the next level and must be in the right type of offense for him to reach his full potential. I also am shy of anything that looks like A JJ type QB.

Y'all are killing me with this one all-star game. He went like 7-8 over a hundred yards passing 2tds, and no picks, not to even mention what he has done his whole HS career.

People love dogging kids out when they feel like they won't land him.

Athletes at Qb dont work in the type of offense that lsu runs. The are a power team and from what I am seeing they plan on throwing the ball deep next semester. Its about getting the players that fit your scheme nothing against Winston but the oline is not built to pass block while a qb is running around trying to find someone to throw to.

I like Winston, but if he were smart I think he would stick with FSU. The ACC just seems more manageable for a dual threat QB because of the defenses you play. Dual threats don't working the SEC for the same reason they don't work in the NFL.

That Dual-threat worked like wonders last year. IJS
I understand he may not fit your system or whatever but it's evident he does because he is being heavily recruited by your coaches, plus it's up to the coaches to develop them into the system. But that wasn't my issue, it was these one game evaluators.

I agree.

But I'm not doing that.

I remain high on Gunner Kiel's potential, despite the fact that he directly spurned LSU.

Winston is a great athlete that won't be a great QB IMO.

Wah? He was the MVP of the game and was the only QB that looked good. I'd say he had one of the best QB performanes I can remember at an all star game.

The UA game shouldn't be the determining factor for anyone good or bad. He was bad in the practices for 3 days but very good in the game, 8 passes. Which weighs more? To me it's the practice but some will say the game. Use film over a 2-3 year period to really judge a kid's talent and skills. For example 1 game can be considered lucky, Tebow vs Pittsburgh, while days of consistent practice and routine can be considered the norm. All in the evaluator.

Does anyone think he visits here again before NSD? I keep on hearing about a surprise visitor committed to another school showing up this weekend or next...I wonder if its him?

Obviously. I'm just saying that I think he had a very impressive game. Going 8-9 for 180 yards and 2 tds rarely happens in an all star game.
