I'm not getting all this Hootie to Ole Miss non sense.
Everyones reasoning behind this is..
-Alabama and LSU don't want him anymore and Ole Miss Does
-CJ Hampton is going to stay there and him and Hootie are tight.
I mean.. has he ever been interested in Ole Miss? He has never even been to the school. And really? CJ Hampton and him are good friends? He just met this kid probably within the last year through camps. He just decommited from a school that has people he is much closer to (Cameron Sims and Cameron Robinson). LSU also has Diarse on the team who Hootie went to school with growing up and played football with for years.
I'm not saying he wont go to Ole Miss but I just dont get all the hype about it being a done deal and hes gonna go there when he has never even been on the campus and he is kinda sorta friends with a guy who is committed to Ole Miss

You hit nail right on the head, that's exactly what happened. I kind of feel bad for the kid though I was told he and his mom called Coach Miles to see if his spot was still available. But unfortunately they filled it. I also heard the kid cried like a baby to Coach Miles saying he made a huge mistake and that his heart really was with LSU. But they put the full court press on Adams once Hootie committed to Bama. But someone correct me if I'm wrong I think LSU still has to honor his scholly because he sent in financial papers to Les Miles.

Been very confident but your lack of confidence makes me a tad more confident.
Confident

I'm not butt hurt. Just think it's funny that, coming from a random Florida fan days after the fact, this info it's so well received and taken as gospel, yet days ago when it actually happened, the same news brought by LSU fans was rejected.
I have no beef with you. I appreciate you coming here and reassuring LSU fans.

I'm not getting all this Hootie to Ole Miss non sense.
Hootie may be letting those around him have way too much influence on him, and I'm NOT talking about handlers. I'm talking about the desire to play with someone he knows/likes. CRob/Simms may have influenced him to Bama, now that influence has waned, not he may be focusing on Hampton. He's starting to look wishy-washy, usually that's a result of too many influences pulling in too many directions at once.
We may be able to look back some months from now and point to Hootie decommitting from Bama as the point when Hammond was going to re-commit to OM.
quote:something we were batting around right after he decommitted. You would think so... but it's something else that doesn't fit in this whole saga. I'm still wondering:
504Soulja- LSU still has to honor his scholly because he sent in financial papers to Les Miles.
A) do we KNOW for SURE he signed LSU papers (would think so, he was undecided)
B) do these rules allow the recruit to "tear up" the agreement whenever they wish?
C) if B is correct, did Hootie tear up the agreement (on his own or at Bama's insistence)?
Just noticed your sig RA... I laughed. I will fricking freak if it turns out that guy is right.

It's tough you want everything to workout, but the commitible offer was on the table for a long time. It's a part of the process of recruiting that is tough. There's only so many spots.

I take that with a grain of salt, but even if all of it is 100% true, then I still don't mind it. We went all in on Adams, and we made a commitment to him, its unfortunate but you don't go back on your word to Adams.

Financially, yes, but the kid won't come here if they say there is no athletic scholarship for him.

Right. Then are you upset you just didn't get the attention?

Random to who? You? I know dmb personally, and several posters on here know how much he enjoys recruiting and knows he doesn't throw rumors out there without having some sources to back them up. Nothing you brought here was rejected, many of us already had that information and more, and you will see what I mean on the 2nd.

I believe if Hootie wants into the LSU class bad enough, he should wait a few weeks to see how things shake out. We likely will have a spot for him after NSD if they don't reach to fill any positions. He hadn't expressed any interest in Ole Miss until the Bama decommittment. Seems like that would be a huge mistake on his part to go there.
He can still be a Tiger if he wants. He just has to understand that the staff can't disrupt the continuity of their class just for him. We likely won't land everyone we're in the running for, so he'll have to wait to see who comes and who doesn't.

nacho, I'm with you on that. I wasn't knocking the staff. to get a top 50 kid from North Louisiana.I think a lot of the issue in North Louisiana is perception. and landing him could have helped change that perception.
but in no way do I blame the coaching staff for this. their job is to get the best players, and it appears they are doing just that with Adams.

one thing I've forgotten in this discussion... even though it's not official yet:
THANK YOU JAMAL ADAMS! Welcome to Tigernation. We need you.
With the CB's coming in, I'm hoping to see him back there with Voorhies destroying shite. Just need Willis, maybe even Carter, now to shore up the DL and pass rush. Put all the pieces in place and they will all look like superstars... and LSU is getting those pieces into place now.
ETA: he has been coming here and giving us the UF take for some time now Fishead.
