Hey Vol. That would be an incredible finish on the DL. Do you see us pushing for 2 OTs as well? What are your feelings or Braswell, Webb, Ojulari?

Yeah. I can't see a kid from New Iberia ending up at any other SEC school if LSU is making them a priority.

Per Shea -

Most recruiting reporters are picking Roy to LSU tomorrow.

FWIW ...Bama's Tim Watts is saying LSU tomorrow, but would not be surprised for Roy to decommit again and sign with Bama in December.

In other news, I actually have no basis for this and am just throwing shite on the wall so hopefully we can flip him

Apparently nolacapstone has said the same thing. I could only see this happening if our season turns into a total disaster and the Bama game is another 29-0 beatdown.

I just don't see it, but then again, this coaching staff has never had to face expectations like this before either. Maybe they fold under the pressure.

Any idea why Watts and nolacapstone are so confident? Is it because of Roy supposedly telling Saban he was going there in June? I have a hard time believing they would put that much stock in a silent, especially since he's basically been all LSU since then.

Capstone claims he already gave his verbal to Saban, so that's why he'll sign with Bama in December. No idea why Roy would commit so publicly to LSU a 2nd time only to change his mind based on something he supposedly told Saban months ago.

Maybe we're finally playing the games with Bama and they'll get a taste of their own medicine.

That's the only reason I can see, they are all in consensus he gave Saban his verbal.

New: There are only 3 uncommitted defensive linemen left from the Top 50 on @247Sports.

One of them makes his college announcement in 24 hours. Here's where things stand with Jaquelin Roy's @247CrystalBall and process thus far.

Why commit now then? I just cant see a kid bringing that much attention to himself, LSU Bound!!!

I could understand why.

Maybe Louisiana kids are starting to get sick and tired of everyone around them either asking where they're going if they're not committed, or giving them shite for committing somewhere besides LSU. If it were me, that's probably how I would play it, tell everyone LSU early, just to get them off my back, and then make the final decision in either December or February.

We bring this drama on ourselves. If we didn't lavish all this attention on these guys, they wouldn't be expecting it so much.

To be faire to Watts, he did not say that, it's the resident Bama 247 board "LA insider" nolacapstone. Watts just said he expects LSU to pickup the commitment tomorrow but that the recruitment definitely isn't over.

Honestly just dont see why they think with him committing a 2nd time to us and very publicly in a bash gives them so much hope he can/will still potentially flip. In most any case, you'd say that kind of recruitment is over.

nolacapstone claims back in early june when Roy visited he gave Saban his pledge (Silent) and that's why Bama will get him. For whatever reason, they wont acknowledge right after that Roy was spending multiple days a week on LSU's campus with our staff, then after that, decided he was ready to announce, and it's pretty clearly going to be LSU tomorrow, so I'm not quite why you would hang onto what Roy potentially said before all that. I guess they just believe Saban never gets lied to.

My TL; dirty version of this is I think whatever "offer" they gave Roy pleased him to tell them a very positive thing back in early June and right after that we stepped in and bettered it which is causing him to forget about Bama for now and re-commit to us.

I don't understand why a decision like this can take so long. You can look across the NFL and see great players with great careers... that didn't attend those high profile schools.

I guess I'm lucky to be a "not very athletic white guy" and never had to worry about such drama.
