Mike Scarborough from TigerBait just reported on his live show that he reached out to Jacoby, who confirmed that LSU has not contacted him yet!!!

This feels like a decision that we will understand later.
This coach and staff has taken risks on taking transfers that were a bit tarnished. Sometimes that has been a bad bet.
That LSU has not reached out at all suggests something is very amiss here. Even at a position of need.
Gonna trust staff on this one.

A perfect spot for Jacoby Mathews would be Tulane with his old high school teammate if Tulane would allow it. If he plays it right, he could elevate his career and be daft acceptable.

I think the staff was initially holding off to see what progress they could make with Poyser and Thienemann.
Now that the both of them are gone, I think we see LSU at least kick the tires.
Waiting until the spring portal, or even until after this first round of playoff games could he troublesome if no other quality safties enter.

Maybe he is an idiot. He had a full ride to a great school at A&M and decided to risk it all entering the transfer portal and demand more than he’s worth. He didn’t get picked up, sat out of school and playing any sports for a year and won’t get picked up by anyone this year because he’s not even enrolled in any school therefore not in the transfer portal. His career is over because he’s an idiot
