The reason you don’t understand why he would be a top 10 prospect is because you don’t seem to understand what goes in to ranking prospects. The high school film you mention is just a small part of what the experts look at, and there are multiple reasons and variables as to why it only plays a small part.

Is that why only 1 service has him top 10 and they haven’t even done a scouting report on him? The people who are paid to evaluate also say he’s a downhill player that might end up being a LB. They also question his pass coverage.

quote:

Stoutly assembled safety prospect who could potentially move around the defensive back seven. Verified 6-1, 200 with frame space to keep adding mass if off-ball linebacker is a desired long-term home. Flies downhill quick-trigger pursuer vs. the run. Quick in diagnosis. Breaks down and drives through targets as a tackler. Speed-to-power ability and play strength enable playing through a block en route to the ball. Need more context as a pass defender after missing most of sophomore season with a knee injury (returned for state final). Also plays baseball and got some track reps in Spring 2024 (11.73 100, 4x100 relay). Entering junior year, looks like a forward-oriented safety or linebacker who can play in space, while hitting above his weight as a striker. Projects to the high-major level as a potential multi-year starter with a promising future.

offense but EVERY expert that’s paid to do this for their livelihoods disagree………..like ALL OF EM!!

You will be the first one to bash him when he doesn’t meet the expectations set by the recruiting sites

Which are always wrong by the way

The “they get paid to evaluate” thing is always funny. NFL GMs constantly miss on talent evals but the ON3, Rivals and 247 writers are gospel.

The monetization of recruiting is genius. But it’s more entertainment than anything

I’m not saying it doesn’t take work but following the offers doesn’t exactly make it hard to categorize & rank players.

I am an LSU fan and have followed recruiting for years.

I’m not an expert. I asked if we are still treating his brother (Blaine) as a “can’t miss prospect”?

Since people are labeling him as that, I’m saying I don’t see it. I think he’s overrated.

I think he’s a solid player. I didn’t say LSU should stop recruiting him.

But do you think he’s “we need to offer his brother so he will definitely come here, good?”

Dude you have no idea what you are looking at or what you are talking about.

He is an elite athlete with speed, length, and strength…very fast and very rangy.

He is exactly what you are looking for in a high school safety prospect.

We would be lucky to get him.
