It’s crazy not to see threads about flips and such the day before national signing day

The old single-day February date with the Bash was a great time.

NCAA has totally pissed over several things that made college football great.

I believe this is what will happen. We will go back to the single NSD with the portal window after. That gives you distinct windows for everything- Regular Season, Playoffs, Coach Changes, Recruiting, Portal, Spring, Offseason.

To make that work, the NCAA has to admit its final defeat. They have to decouple the portal from the academic calendar. Just like most recruits sign a Letter of Intent and then get a scholarship, but don’t enroll until summer, portal players need to be able to sign and participate in Spring Football, but just enroll later in the Summer Semester. That change would fix all of this shite and give us a reasonable system.

Nick Saban wanted Ed’s to be in August. His reasoning was so a coach doesn’t have to work on all the recruits during football season.

Can't see having an ESD before the season would help stabilize anything or fix it. In fact, I can see how that could make it worse since most coaches are fired from OCT-JAN.

Would the still-high school student then transfer before college?

We just need to stop trying to mimic the NFL's schedule for games and playoffs.

Keep regular signing day in FEB and whoever wanted to sign in DEC can just enroll early. They would have to transfer if anything happens to the coach but at least they would be a college student.
