What scares me is that I keep hearing that Sage Ryan is playing good and he’s not playing good at all.

I was thinking the same thing, I’m not sure what the deal is with Sage. Maybe a lightbulb will click in his head.

Kelly sure knows how to recruit elite offensive linemen and tight ends, that is what he is known for. As time goes, we shall see how it all plays out.

Good point. How about as a hs sophomore? That's the difference. Hype many times has nothing to do with facts or rankings.

ZenF, FIFY

Left tackle, we all agree. Right tackle is suspect w/Emory Jones. He'll be an all-Am RG but he's having serious difficulty keeping the QB clean on the right side. Watch the game video and you'll agree. Move him down and get Lance In that spot...

This will happen next season, but Lance looks pretty lost out there at times. Doesn't use leverage well and has missed assignments. That's not really a knock on him as OL is a very tough place to play as a freshman in the SEC. He'll be RT next year and Jones will roadgrade on the inside.

Maybe so, but watch when they put a top-notch edge rusher on his side.

It isn't pretty.

Look, I think he's doing well, just not a true tackle with his footwork, but a great guard. And he'll play guard at the next level.

Catfish, thanks for your comments. I haven't watched Lance enough to see what you are seeing, so maybe we leave well enough alone for now.

BTW, do you make a jammin' gumbo? Maybe we get you and LSUdad in a competition for Bryce's taste-testing lol...

Heard will eventually be our RT, and will get a shot at LT when Campbell graduates, at least in spring and fall camp.

Yep to all of this. Will was an absolute exception and not the rule whatsoever. VERY few folks start on the o line their freshman year in the SEC.

Yeah, this is why it was always dumb when people kept parroting to just move Emory Jones inside.

First of all, he lost weight to play tackle. This is why they have been trying heard inside to get his feet wet.

He is having trouble with the speed of the game inside.
Just imagine how it would be out on the edge.

Gerry D. had a little to do with it. The guy that called him Hoss, that’s the guy that kept him on track to LSU.
