Even Nick has made mistakes, main one is Vince Young. LSU was far ahead of everyone recruit Vince and was the odds on favorite to sign him, until Nick told Vince we wanted him to play wr as he would not be a pro QB.

This was after the camp at LSU. Texas who had little contact with Vince steps in and gets him at Qb.

No they didn’t. They just told him he wouldn’t see the field until he was a junior.

You mean after Akers said No. The only reason we missed on Etienne was, according to the experts on this board, he had not faced high level competition in AAA. Well, I called BS then and believe will be proved right.

Buttt, my bias does play into this. The last time I was 180 from the sperts on this board and correct was Jarvis Landry. There is just some things that are seen crystal clear and on rare occasions...we'll see if Travis is my most recent.

Steve McNair, was told the same thing.

Not exactly. He was told that but first told to learn how to spell TCA correctly, I mean ACT. Take it and pass it. Fail. Pretty sure that's how he wound up at Alcorn.

Pete Jenkins is asked this question all the time because he is the one who recruited Faulk. His half joking reply is that his evaluation was right and he still believes Faulk would have made a hell of a DB.
