From an article in May

quote:

But distance is going to matter. “Yes,” Evans said, when asked if distance from his Houston home matters. “I mean, come on, I’m not getting my grandma on three flights.” Texas quarterback commit Hudson Card is recruiting Evans hard, and has been emphasizing the distance aspect.

Evan’s grandma lives in Baton Rogue #geauxtigers

Right, LSU is in a good spot. Direct flight or a 4 hour drive. Austin is 3 hours. Obviously College Station is very close. Fortunately for us, Tuscaloosa and Athens aren’t as convenient.

I don’t live to far from the Galena Park/North Shore Area and Austin is about 2 1/2 to 2 hours and 45 minutes

No disrespect to Evans, but I would rather give Emory another year in the system. TD Price, Emory and Evans all see themselves as feature backs, so doubtful if Evans signs we keep the other two.

Evans is coming here as of now, and not a single one of the backs are contingent on the other. Georgia is just as deep at RB, and they were the favorite for Evans not long ago.

I would be surprised if Evans is not a Tiger!

I have watched him play twice this year and he is by far the best player on the field not even close.

Against Beaumont West a great program in Texas he had 3 TD's and 180 yards and did not even play that much.

He is going to be a great one.

Northshore's Coach and staff like LSU and the way their kids are treated by our University.

Interesting he referred to his grandma and the fact she lives in BR. Can't get much closer to his games than living in BR.

Couple of things.

#1) It’s Emery not Emory.

#2) All backs in today’s CFB split carries

#3) Sign up the best guys you can and play the best players you can get on the field

#4) Johns not scared of Evans. If any of them transfer after they’re all here then it’s because someone got beat out.

Yep, Tuscaloosa is way too close to the pasture there East of them. Home of the infamous cowbellers . StarkVegas, home of more trailer parks per capita than any other city in America.
