drops two spots.

These rankings are subject to change as the signings continue.

Tx A&M dropped 7 spots to 25 with 15 commits. Must have lost a couple/few big recruits.

Florida St and USC both dropped 7 spots to #'s 34 & 35. They only have 9 commits but must have lost some to drop 7 spots.

Biggest gainers:
+4 Baylor to 15 with 23 commits.
+3 South Carolina to 19 with 22 commits.
+6 Oklahoma State to 24 with 22 commits.

Teams with OVER 25 commits - Virginia Tech with 27 and Minnesota with 26.

A. ESPN recruiting is a joke

B. Texas A&M is going to finish very strong with Jimbo, so I wouldn't count on them staying where they are

In the distant past I would agree. Last year I would actually disagree. This year they seem to pretty much be in-line with 24/7.

The fact they have Baylor at 12 shows espn is a joke

They have one 4 star and mostly 2s and 3s

They go off total numbers of signees

Nothing wrong with that. Unless you are saying that if Northwestern St signs 35 players they will finish ahead of Ohio State who may sign 20.

Nothing wrong with that except it is wrong when used a measure of the strength of a class.

A class shouldn't be rated by all of the players that are signed by a team?

Baylor has a solid class, especially considering their circumstances.

IMO, 247's rankings are questionable too. When you listen to some of the reasoning behind their evaluations it's mind boggling. And reading some of the stuff their site mods/evaluators posts is laughable. I'm not sure about the Scout guys though.

According to ESPN Devin Phillips is the #4 rated football player in LA. That alone tells you they're garbage.

He's saying that the numbers can be skewed due to the total numbers of players a team signs.

For instance. Team A could sign 35 3* players and be rated as number 10. Team B could sign 10 5* players and only be rated as the number 12 team. Team B may have only signed players to fill the needs of the team. Team A could have been signing anyone that would sign with them.

A&M was a prime example of this in the past few years. They would sign 3 highly recruited QBs. Other than giving you options on who ultimately is your starter, it does nothing but overinflate their rank because all 3 QBs will not be playing at the same time. It gives a false narrative about the overall strength of the signing class.

I think it is also skewed by position rankings. J D Moore was as valuable as just about anyone on offense the last couple years. But FB's can only be ranked so high. Same goes for long snappers, centers, etc. LSU relies heavily on fullbacks unlike some other teams

And as other programs fill their spots this will sort itself out, right?
