Louisiana kids commit to play for "LSU" and not whoever is the HC. The HC is not the reason. I'll pass credit to the HC for pulling the out-of-state blue chippers, but the in-state kids want to play AT LSU and not FOR the HC. Only explanation.

Sorry to tell you this but dude you're wrong. The HC does matter!! See Warrick Dunn and all of the other blue chip recruit that left LA before Saban put a fence around it.

Who said that, and I have to disagree with the OP. Only after Saban built the fence did it start to appear that way.

There's an element of truth to that idea, but it does require LSU to be a viable program kids are willing to commit to. I don't care how much home state love those kids in the 90's had, looking at 2-9 teams they just couldn't make that decision. Now, despite what we as fans think of as "reasonable" results, the program is solid enough and good enough for those kids to come on down.

The commitments that we have been getting and have gotten in the past show that your theory is very close to the truth if not a proven fact.

Kids like to be stars in their neighborhood - gives them a chance to show off their prowess to not just supporters but also to doubters ( and maybe rub it in their faces).

They are not going to be able to have a chance to showcase if the team is horrible - therefore when it is doing moderate to good (leave alone great) it is not a difficult task to get them in.

A study found that this is the same psychological reason that a promotion within the company makes a man happier than going to another company to make more money. He has proven his worth in the eyes of his peers (besides this way he is able to lord it over the others )

Read the interviews posted today. You might change your tune about how important the HC is.

Ok. I should have included "right now". It seems right now the school means more to the kids than the HC. Especially after this season.

Could this get whacked before our recruits read this crap. What good does this kind of post do for our program.

This is the reason why i think that Auburn fans should be sweating when Trovon visits.Wilson has a huge following and is so well respected by kids that him being at the home school could be what pushes Trovon here. Not saying it will happen but if I was an Auburn fan i would be nervous. They will not admit it but i bet they are.
