if you are a defensive coach how do you persuade recruit/portal xfers to play for you?

no way i’ll trust this staff to develope anyone
so sick and tired of having to buyout coaches over the years because they turned out to be shitty hires

Same as every other school in the country and the way we have for all our history, which is filled with more disappointment than celebrations.
Playing time, chance to win, NFL and hope. You'd be amazed how little "bad" coaching means to recruits. The assistant pool around college football is mostly comprised of "bad" coaches recycled over and over again at different stops. That we expect loyalty and excellence from any of them is our fault.

Easy to step in and play in the SEC big exposure , play nationally televised games pretty much every week with a schedule that features USC Oklahoma UCLA Bama the list goes on it’s not rocket science

You let them watch film. These football players know the difference. It isn’t Matt House. He’s tried everything within the scheme they came up with to start the year. He can’t just change up the entire defense without the HCs input. He has to get the ok to do that and sometimes that takes a week or two when you have a HC that has a proven process. He sticks to the process until he sees there is a better solution. I think they’ve come to that solution and it will just take a while to get it all worked out. I think this week we should see a better defense. Less holes in it but I’d still get more young/talented young guys in until I got my best 11+ defenders, starting and rotations.

If he was talking about the mizzou game vs the Ole Miss game, he wasn't wrong.
But to answer your question you simply say that we are rebuilding and in sire need of a talent like yours. Cone to LSU and eyes will be on you, especially if you shine on a defense that looked like it needed help the previous season.
How about that? You know any kid with some swagger is already thinking "I am definitely gonna start at LSU if I go there"

You want to play for a team that has a chance to win a Natty? All we need is an improved defense and BOY do we have playing time to offer.
