re: I think we are in very good shape for QB - Narcisse

I'm personally not sold on the Dual Threat QB concept. So you've got a guy who, let's say, is very fast and has a strong arm. The best DB's can play man to man for the deep ball, then one or two LB's can play the line in the 2-point, shutting down those options. A DT QB that cannot stay in the pocket and execute the flat route pass is a RB. I would much prefer a mobile pocket passing QB. Accuracy can be improved with mechanics, but it also must be developed over thousands of practice throws. I feel like most DT QB's rely too heavily on their feet and don't develop the accuracy as much.
How many DT's vs how many PS's in the NFL?

That's because he was running for his life on literally every play. The St. James offensive line was lousy. Go watch his highlights and you'll see what I mean.

Why is that the measuring stick? Shouldn't it be something like how many DT's compete for national championships?

There's one very big roadblock to development that these QBs won't be dealing with, let's see if you can figure that out

Thank goodness we have the "problem" of having both of them - good problem to have.

EXACTLY! Why should we immediately care about their NFL chances. It's all about winning here at LSU at the moment.

Hell I hope he or Scott starts next year. If he (LN) gets the playbook down and is all healed up, and competes with the starters from last year. I would give him the green light. Our ceiling is only so high if Etling is starting next year we need plays from the QB, and I don't think our current starter has that ability.

A QB competition at LSU with 2 legit top5 QB recruits under a legit OC... I'll take it!

So true!

I actually agree with this.

The problem with discussing LN and his talent is the old attage of "show me what you have done lately". The fact that LN has only played in 5 games since 2015 makes all comments on his talent simply speculation on what he will actually be able to do when he returns. It's not the same discussion as the one you can have about someone who has done it game after game and year after year and continues to play and perform today. So to actually say he will beat out one player or another or that a certain player cannot beat him out is based on 3 year old info and in games played when he was a sophomore and a couple when he was a junior. I pray he remains healthy and contributes to the Tigers winning a NC. However, to continue to underestimate and disregard Brennan's consistent talent and performance time and time again will lead to a rude awakening for all that dobut him.

Kinda hypocritical, don't you think? I don't think anyone is underestimating Brennan or his potential. If anything, Narcisse is the one who is being underestimated due to his inactivity. Many are assuming that Brennan will be the starter, and that's just asinine. Narcisse finished up his physical therapy today, as a matter of fact. He is cleared to play.

I didn't see what he was saying at all to be hypocritical due to one fact, well... assumption:
It will be a true competition and their (and other QBs already at LSU) fate is up to them. Both have plenty of work to do, albeit in different areas. And then they both have even more work to do in shared areas (e.g. learn Canada's playbook/system). The one who works hardest will have the edge.

Sorry, but Ill have to see Narcisse to believe that he's another Vick...quickest QB I ever saw...Cam was the fastest straight on...

I know he is hearing the rumblings of his injuries and hearing that he cannot make it because of that; i think this is only going to fuel the fire and increase his work ethic to make sure he is in the best shape possible and rehabbing to the best of his ability.

to be fair, I thought he was cleared to play in UA game. And his PT in some form will probably continue for some quite time. There's PT for rehab, and other types/reasons such as conditioning (just a specific body part). Just a nomenclature thing.
