I've said it before - thankfully, the staff doesn't share the "doom & gloom, sky is falling" mentality of the nega-tigers that frequent the message boards. As fans we need to adopt the confidence of our gump brethren and have a little faith.

the 'decline' arguments are not about recruiting at all, but what happens on game day.
Yeah, that's just not accurate.
When you talk decline, you are talking about the program...the long term outlook. Recruiting is central to that.
Depending on how this class finishes, it could end up being the best class LSU ever signs. The program is as strong as its been under Miles. I know a lot of people don't want to admit that but it is what it is. The OP is completely on point.

That's cool if a player wants to rep the state, but I don't put too much into it. A college choice is much more than that, and it's awesome that these kids realize that LSU is a great opportunity for them.

People can say whatever about his coaching
The fact LSU leads all BCS programs, other than BSU who just recently became a BCS program, in wins since Les arrived at LSU says all any non-retard needs to hear about his coaching.
The dude is one of the very best at running a college program. Anyone who still doubts that is a fool.

quote:the impetus for the decline arguments were not about the full program at all, they were an over reaction to something that happened...they were about a part of the program, either recruiting or the coaching, not both. No one can make a credible argument about a decline in recruiting, coaching is another story.
