I've been very critical of his game day coaching, but he sees a need and makes sure that he or his staff get the job done.

Need a new OC? Grab one of the best

Need to fire stud? Done

Hole at MLB? Sign #1 MLB

Hole at safety? Sign #1 and #2 safety

Need new lead receiver? Sign #1 WR in the country and the national record holder (TQ)

Need RB? Sign #1 RB

Need DT? Sign two of the best in the country

As a side note, also helps flip THREE Texas recruits away from one of the wealthiest and most prestigious programs on the country.

If people STILL aren't happy because we lost a few LA players, then I don't know what to tell you. This could truly be the start of a historic run for LSU even without the few we let slip away. On top off that, the players seem to like Les a lot. I'm not excusing game management, but as a recruiter the guy is phenomenal.

All true. A very great day no matter what happens with Carter and Adoree.

People can say whatever about his coaching but no one can deny his ability to recruit. Dude is a wizard.

Les is awesome. Just wish the Mad Hatter title never came about. Seems that's when a lot of his mistakes came about. Also seems like he hasn't been such a gambler much as of late. Hope to see that Les come back. But hey, with Cam at OC who needs trick plays amirite.

He excels at recruiting due to his personality. Great man. He has great game day preparation in my opinion. I'm glad he is now hiring coaches to take over the in game decisions. A good head coach prepares everything and let's his generals run the plan in the game.

Les is a great recruiter, there's really no denying that. I hate to lose La. players to Saban, but it's ultimately the kid's decision, not alot you can do.

unfortunately the old head coach is 1 notch better and is the only really thing that stops LSU from being the kings of recruiting or the SEC, for that matter.

But, but, but the fences are down. Maybe it does not matter if the fences are down because they are down due to the fact that we are now a national brand and we are pulling players from all over the country

Crazy to think he's so dominant with Sabans players, to this day

Great character also. How many other coaches out there kick Ryan P. and the Honey Badger off their teams? About a handful nationwide, maybe.

the 'decline' arguments are not about recruiting at all, but what happens on game day.

Les is only doing his job. Winning ball games and shipping guys to the league.

What he and the staff did today, was like stocking up on Black Friday. Bama v LSU should be a great matchup for years to come with these recruiting classes.
