I don't think we're going to be elite until we can consistently recruit line talent

OL and DL. We need a good 2-3 year run of rich line talent. Our line recruiting the past few years has been too spotty. But I don't see us making that run in the near future, not by what I see in future classes.

We are the only school in the country that can sign a five star player and actually have fans complain.?????????

Your first attempt to give input, and you fail. Do you see something wrong with my OP? If so, please explain it to us, genius.

What exactly do you want them to do? Turn away 5* talent?

frick man. Of course we need big uglies- you think Ed Orgeron, of all people, doesn’t know that?

Who did he FaceTime at the draft again?

We've signed 2 5-star lineman since 2011, Rashard Lawrence and Maea Teuhema (who only played one year and left the team).

WTF are you talking about? Go look at Bama and Clemson's line recruiting the last 4 years.

How did I imply this? My point was, by looking at future classes, there's not much to choose from. It's all east coast talent that won't come to LSU. Hopefully, O can steal some of those kids, we'll see.

WTH are you talking about? Last year was pretty damn strong for OL, and this year is looking extremely good for DL.

You're mad, but the same thing has been said a million times after someone commits..but fine. I'll give you the input you want: LSU's recruiting, if you were a true fan, that is, has always been elite. Some years here and there where we've dipped, but that happens. Since 2010, our Rankings have been as followed: 9,8, 13, 6, 2, 5, 2, 7, 15, 5 and for now, 1.
DL & OL Who are committed: Demon Clowney, Courtney Ford, Alec Bryant, Cam Jackson, & Jordan Berry
L & OL that are high on us this yr: Jaq Roy, Jacobian G, Brady Ward, Andrew Raym, Marcus Dumervil, Van Pran, Merriweather-Lewis, Marlon Martinez and the list goes on.My point is that we're getting there, and to say we're not elite is an overreaction. Can we get better in the trenches? Hell yea but our recruiting rankings over the years proves youwrong, and my other point? Quit being that guy. "Oh yea.. we landed a 5 star WR and have the #1 class for now, but..but...but.." it's annoying. Be like everyone else and enjoy this moment please. Thanks

Fyi that was my 1st post.. but at least it's not as aggravating as the OP

You guys need to stop... it’s not like LSU isn’t trying their hardest to recruit lineman. And LSU’s projected defensive line class is really good.

100% agree, it also annoys me when people say “will he stick” after 20 minutes of him being committed.

Now it makes sense. You're one of those "if we can't get high ranked OL/DL, we've failed". Do me a favor, go back since 2011 and give me a list of how many linemen that weren't 5 stars that actually did well. I'll wait. And let me tell you why stars don't always matter.. Cushenberry was a 3 star and has been pretty good at C. Damien was a JUCO OL and has been solid. Austin Deculus was considered a high 4 star and even a 5 star OL by at least 2 sites. He's still struggling to find his way, tho I have faith. Tyler Shelvin was considered a 5 star on a couple sites and was the 2nd best DT in his class and he literally just found his way into the starting lineup. Enough with the 5 star shenanigans.

No you failed.
We sign a 5* player and you start a bitching thread.
His 1 post is greater than your entire body of work.

Now if only we could recruit DL/OL

Where did I use this tone?

you'd see we have interest from several OL/DL

I said we need rich line talent, not just depth - we need that too. This year and last year's classes are depth talent. We are going to need Bama and Clemson type line talent to be elite, which I don't see happening in the next few years.

My OP was in no way a response to the WR commit. Any time we get a 5* commit, at any position, is excellent. I don't know why we're talking about the WR... Wait, yes I do, because you're a negative Nancy and you can't help but think everyone on here is ungrateful.

Again.. since you're too stubborn to read... we have highly ranked OL/DL who are looking our way.. the guys I just mentioned are not depth guys.. they are literally.. high ranking players.Clemson's OL recruiting for the last 3 yrs has been the same as ours (if you'd actually bother to look) and they just started recruiting their dline this well 2 yrs ago. I wasn't even talking about the WR.. I'm talking about the fact that you are literally looking past the fact that we just scored a high ranked recruit, and we should be happy about it.. not rambling about the same thing over and over again. I bet if you asked everyone on this post who the negative one was at this point.. they'd all agree it's you.
