How real are recruit heights and weights these days?

Seems very easy to get real measurements on these guys at showcase events.

Curious as why these aren't reported with dates of measurement on recruiting sites.

Each school measures for themselves. The recruiting sites probably go by what’s listed in the high school program.

The recruiting sits also use camp heights and weights so they could be old

They do get to measure them sometimes. It’s just not always reported on properly, which I don’t understand.

The Senior Bowl for instance will measure & publicize and the information will draw a good bit of attention & clicks. Recruiting sites are missing an opportunity with this.

They are as accurate as their high school wants them to be.

Most heights seem to be in cleats to the top of hair.

I remember how much our coaches/players in my day would fudge those numbers add 10-20 pounds to each lineman, shave off .05 seconds off everyone’s 40.

It was intentional for the starters that would go out in scouting reports, but for everyone else if you were like a 7th string WR, you would get a time from one guy and then tell someone else what you’re time was to confirm it, so guys would just shave a few down themselves

Half the guys were running on a track in gym shoes back then anyway so we did not have the infrastructure that these programs probably do these days to accurately measure this stuff anyway
