No one has mentioned anything about throw ins .

There are still quality OT available.

Also, keeping Green is vital to next years class and how future OL strength.

Florida has a few quality OTs that every school has been recruiting for years. That's about it.

It's a hard position to find quality guys at. Hence how true freshman are able to start at Bama.

We need 6-7 total. Malone gone this year, Weathersby, Brumfield, and Clapp will be after 2018

I agree with this we need the JUCO OT and 2-3 more besides the verbals we already have.

Could Rosenthal's situation be similar to Will Blackwell, whom most projected as a better OL prospect, but who first wanted to play on the defensive line?

Looking at the depth chart right now we will have freshman and RS freshman or sophomore backups for a good while. For another 3 years at least. Once you get down to where we are it takes our freshman now to be junior or seniors to have a real decent quality of depth with guys who leave, don't pan out, or what ever the case.

Unless we do a mariculaous job grabbing quality transfers and Juco guys who can play at a high level right now, which we may have to do to build a quality depth chart. I think that's the route we should take. No way I would take just anyone to fill depth though. You take who you think can dominate or do the job at a high level. I don't think LSU is just taking just anyone. They are taking quality guys who they feel can perform at a high level, if not, then what's the point.

Do Clapp and Weathersby have another year of eligibility? I know Malone is done.

but it is a postion we may have to take some chances on because their aren't enough sure things at the positon in the state of Louisiana and it is a position we seem to have historically had more trouble finding enough top quality sure fire recruits at. YOu can't always tell who is going to develop into a top quality o-lineman and who isn't. It's a position some players need to develop and grow into. So you may need to take some chances at the position and take some extra bodies and redshirt them, just to increase your odds of some of them developing into starters by their junior or senior years.

Well that's why we need to have the best evaluators on this. Spot who ever where ever and get on them. That's why I said a while back that we need to think about expanding our footprint nationwide for OL. We can't afford to miss on many at all. This should be at the forefront of LSUs recruiting efforts. I would spare no expense until it's built back up and quickly as possible.

The very last thing you want is to have all American QBs but no one there to block for them. It's crunch time for this staff. We need at least 2 more no doubters in 2018 at OT. If we can do that and keep what we have we should be ok. Then land another 2 OTs in 2019 and another 3 OGs in 19. If we do that and the juniors come back next year LSU should have enough depth. LSU has done it for the DL and LBer positions so why couldn't we for the OL. We'll see but a good season will go a long ways. People want to see LSU end the season above expectation. 10-2 or 11-1.
