Obviously we need more DL and OL, but have to leave room for Emery, Lee, possibly another QB, etc.

Seems like we have a whole lot of needs, and only a few spots remaining.

Predictions on how this class plays out?

How do we still need so many positions but still have to save room for other positions but the class is almost full? What the frick is the class full of that we don’t need?

Also, us continuing to recruit CB’s when we already have 4 committed makes me think Kristian’s leaving this year.

Makes you wonder about Fulton?
Stingley is a day one starter replacing Greedy. I don't think Joseph or Vincent are cornerbacks. Vincent is a nickel and Joseph a safety. Miller is going to have to play immediately. Flott is a redshirt candidate.
Fulton come back, we are good with him and Stingley starting and Miller the third CB.
It would be great to get someone who could come in and claim a top 3 CB spot immediately. Ward isn't that guy, like Flott he's a redshirt.

My guesses for this would be Netherly or moving Kirklin back to corner.

Ill give it a shot. Here are the probables:

Jay Ward cb
Myron Warren de
Devonta Lee wr or safety
John Emery rb

Of the probables, Emery would be barely over 50%. With LSU not having a feature rb next year, LSU is just such a logical place for Emery to go.

Somewhere, somehow, they need to get a quality defensive lineman in this class. Overall it could be a good class. If they cant get even one blue chip d-lineman in the class, that would be a major fail that will be hard to sugar coat.

Yep, obviously the only DL they have committed is Joseph Evans and he's a 3-4 end. I'm fine with not getting any NT's on board because you have Alexander, Shelvin, and Livingston that can all play there, not to mention Fehoko if he returns. Next recruiting class is heavy on NT's as well.

I've said it before and I'll repeat we must get away from the 350 lb NT! They can't move and Alabama ran right past alexander all night. Fehoko did a better job there and I would certainly move him there next fall.

Unless you get the physical freak of nature 350 lb guy that moves like he's 300, I agree. I think they're hoping that's what Shelvin would bring if he ever gets in better condition where he doesn't need a breather after 2 plays.

Didn't I read somewhere that the dude could do back flips? I might be confused, but I thought I read that when we were recruiting him. It certainly doesn't look like he could do one now, though.

If any of the incoming corners are up to it, I think Joseph easily slides into his natural position as safety - a year at corner, playing a lot, will probably help his development.

I agree Vincent should be the nickel next year.

I honestly don’t see Fulton leaving. I know he’s been great, but only one year of playing time really, and the whole issue about being suspended a year will hurt him. He’s going to come back and he’ll start alongside Stingley. Vincent takes Nickel and covers the slot.

there job isnt necessarily to tackle or get sacks.. their job is to be space eaters, thats why they are so valueble, extremely hard to find.. much like pass rushers... they basically have to stay in there spot and not be moved by double teams... thus freeing up the LB to make the tackle. in a true 3/4 the ends should be 290-300 lbs, nose at 330-340 and LB's in the 240-260 range... Its by far the most versatile defense run... thats why pros run it...

I'm pretty sure Coach O said he wants another QB in this class.
