The rivals measurements has to be as a junior. These freaking trench guys who are tall and thick bodies really sprout some super weight from their junior to senior years.

I like to see trech guys commit early because they get on the LSU conditioning and weight plans as opposed to just wanted to be bigger than their opponents at all costs as seniors in high school. Dropping the fat and adding heavy muscle is the difference between the Drake Nevis body types and the Mount Cody bitch tit body typed. Of coarse, those two played very different positions but either way, I would rather the Nevis mound of muscle every time.

I know we need DT's, but this guy is a 3-4 NT. He's too big for our defense, but we're running out of options this close to national signing day.

Dude is massive. I'd say he's over 320

He made the other DT at the army game look small

so a big run stuffer who can collapse the pocket and also tie up multiple blockers is wrong for our defense? Some people way over think it.

Everytime I see pics of this kid I think JC Transfer. He's so much more developed than other players his age.

Although I see where you are coing from, I am not going to label this guy when I don't know. The big reason why those big NTs aren't said to be in Chavis' mold is becaue Chavis always prefers a guy who penetrates and is an effective pass rusher when rushing only four. Te 3-4 defense commonly brings a blitzer LB from any of the four positions in many different ways sorta like what Chavis used to do when DBU was kicking with the 3-1 dime and Kiki as one of the ends. AL Woods was a perfect example of this and the staff always wanted him on the OL because of it.

I am just saying that I will always defer to the coaches rather than putting kids in a "box" off of their measurables by labeling them.Bottom line here is if this guy can still be active and penetrate all game long. A major factor in this is that he will have the relief of playing within the LSU DL rotation as opposed to playing at most other schools that do not rotate due to productive depth issues.

Also., there is the possibility of his body being further developed and this ending up being a mound of muscle after a year with Moffit. I use the drake Nevis example because Drake was abnormally huge chested for a human. Either way, he will have to lose that unproductive weight if he comes to LSU as opposed to a place like Bama, for instance, where they will force feed him ice cream and hogs head cheese until he becomes Mount Valentine.

On a side note, I would love to know what prompted this...
"De-committed from Miami after U.S. Army Game on January 5th."

If he decommitted after talking to some of the other players then wow... I feel great about him.

Couple of factors here, supposedly hit it off with some of our commits at Army AA game. Also this was around the time Miami coach was flirting with the PSU job and Valentine used this as part of his reasoning for the decommit. Some are also saying that Miami has a foreign language requirement that he is lacking, and other schools(LSU) don't have this same requirement.
If it is true that he cancelled his UM visit for this weekend I think things are looking REALLY GOOD for the Tigers.
